I heard that IAF doesn’t use that base, never seen any aircraft or photos etc, it was a temporary airbase I think.

it could have been an important base for India right next to Afghanistan. It will be loss for India if it is indeed shutdown.

That base is used by RAW, in specific Aviation Research Centre for Intelligence due to close proximity to China and pakis!! But unfortunately ARC is no more!!

The ARC’s chief currently reports to the RAW chief who wields ex-officio responsibility over it as Director, Security, in the Cabinet Secretariat. ARC aircraft, electronic assets to be split between NTRO and IAF.
