The 1975 AK Bullpup Rifle is a highly-compact semi-automatic, gas-operated firearm with a detachable
box magazine. It is equipped with an adjustable rear sight, a post front sight and short synthetic buttstock. Its design, while reminiscent of the short, handy rifles used by crews in military armored vehicles, makes it ideal for use by campers and hunters needing a short, handy rifle for carry in a backpack into the field, and other users needing a compact firearm. This type of unique firearm, with the trigger set in front of (rather than behind) the firearm's action (its moving parts) is referred to asa "bullpup" configuration. The forward placement of the trigger mechanism allows the great compactness.

Specifications:
Caliber: 7.62x39mm Type of Firearm: Semi-Automatic Rifle

Overall Length: 28-inches Barrel length: 16-1/4 inches
Weight: 6-1/2 pounds Finish: Black
Sights: Front - post, Rear - twin peep aperture
Handguard material: Synthetic Pistol Grip: Synthetic.

New Tavor Picatinny
Handguard Rail

The Israeli Tavor TAR-21 bullpup is the hot new rifle these days. Most reviews of the Tavor have been pretty favorable so far with rifles selling just as fast as they're being produced. Like with any popular firearms, there's sure to be an influx of accessories from the aftermarket industry. Israeli accessory retailer Zahal recently started selling a new aluminum Picatinny bottom handguard rail for the TAR-21 Tavor from Fab Defense. It's made from 6061 T6 aluminium and compensates for the Tavor's handguard angle to allow you to mount accessories parallel to the rifle's barrel. It does require some drilling of the handguard to work, but according to this how-to it doesn't look too difficult. It retails for $60 at Zahal.org. Can we expect Magpul to jump on the Tavor bandwagon next?

Bullpup Rifles: Part 1 - The Concept

This is the first video in a series discussing bullpup rifles. In this video I discuss the concept behind the bullpup design and talk about some of the positive attributes and some of the negative attributes. Over the course of the next few months I will review various bullpup rifles that are currently available on the US market. The videos won't be shot back to back but will be spread out over several months with other content in between.
