Delhi high court blast: We don't know who attackers are, says Chidambaram
NEW DELHI: Home minister P Chidambaram in his statement in Parliament severely condemned the bomb blast that killed at least nine people outside the Delhi high court.
It was not possible at this stage to identify the terrorists who exploded a bomb outside the court, Chidambaram said.
Chidambaram added that the Capital has always been a target of terror groups who have been trying to destabilize the nation. Accordingly, Delhi had been put on high security alert, he said in a brief statement.
Extending his sympathies to those killed and injured in the blast, Chidambaram said we should never be intimidated by terror groups.
The home minister said that the NIA and the NSG are investigating the case.
Condemning the terror attack, BJP leader LK Advani said that the nation should be united in moment of crisis.
Earlier, Chidambaram held a high-level security meet in the wake of blast outside Delhi High Court.
The Lok Sabha was also adjourned and question hour suspended for Chidambaram to make a statement in Parliament on the bomb explosion.
Speaker Meira Kumar condemned the bombing and expressed sympathies for victims.

precisely what was happening till 26/11 happened, and now it seems the cycle is being repeated.Mark my words, the attacks will keep continuing and our govt. will do nothing to stop. And people will become immune to such attacks and brush them off as if nothing happened.
sir, now one thing is left, to take law in our hands and kill all the terrorists for instant Justice, specially those who are waiting completion of trial.Rest In Peace to DEAD..

Just here to post RIP..
if there was no CCTV coverage that means terrorist had done their home work. and i doubt real culprit would be caught and to show some progress some local thug would be caught as an terrorist.by the way under whose responsibility the security of delhi lies state gov or central gov.. ans to this question is of now news as both are headed by congress itselfThere is no CCTV coverage around gate no 5 where the explosions took place.
i think india black sheeps and their aka are going to carry out soft targets as they donot want heat to generted upon themself post-26/11 mumbai. this strategy would continue till america lefts afganistan or their aka have strategic depth in afganistan so as to carry strike on scale larger then that of mumbai and provoked us to attack.Construction has been ongoing for quite some time now, and on this road I have seen people park their cars on the pavement and not much action been taken by the DP. So on the face of it looks like a very soft target.
Why should we live in that fear? That is what the terrorists want. We have to DEMAND better security from those entrusted by the people to do so. How do you know what is quick? You may be really quick in getting out of a public place but a bomb may explode in that instant. We cannot change the way we live with freedom, its those who we have entrusted to guard our freedom by electing them who have to ensure we continue the way we live.My advice to everybody, don't go to busy public places especially in Delhi and Bombay, if you have to go, get out quick. You could be next.
