Not surprised...The only question is was it intentional from Amir Khan or was it a genuine mistake.
They also have to verify his track record and his leanings. (since that angle will always come)

Quoting the news press
"The engineer Amir Khan, who in a rented house, was earlier questioned by the CBI but has since gone missing with his family. The CBI during the initial investigation questioned the engineer at an undisclosed location. "

What does this tell you ? What is the undisclosed location ?
I think we know where we are getting at !
Which Ganja Bro?...288 People lost their life and 1000 injured..you call it as a GENUINE mistake !!!!!
This is equvilaent to genocide...culprit should be hanged along with his Family..

Only General Manager (GM) was spared, maybe because she was a woman. Railway Ministry didn't want to be seen as Anti-women and get media scrutinised.

These A grade posts are selected from IES exams, folks mint crores at these posts, how? Contract jobs wassoli, tender wasooli, Permanent job wasoolli.

They don't have much industrail exposure, they train inside IR workshops. Hence most Sarkari babus are kue ka mednhak.

Better we bump the salaries to 1 to 2 crores and bring industry professionals for once, lay off these exam jeets.

IES is only for B tech. They have no social sciences there. That is the reason why IR hasn't gone kaput yet.
Thanks for correcting.
IES I know is only for engineer ..it's engineering service.

I was talking about making it bench mark for all the IAS jobs too. Art side ka kachra padhkar IAS Babu Dom is destroying us. Add to that the one who write and take Urdu Arabic etc are also allowed if I am not wrong.

Apart from that we need to cancel pvt institution who provide btech for namesake.

Even IES/ESE passed personnel have no proper work experience. They clear the exam after passing Engineering. There is constant improvement in technology which they dont know about.
A IAS Babu has been given an additional charge of M.D of a big organisation. Because the position is in addition to his existing job he comes once a month to the office where he is the M.D. rest of the days the important files go to him.
State of the bureaucracy.

The Indian Railways had conducted a CRS probe into the Balasore triple train accident and has also stated that it will not make the CRS probe report public, so as to not "influence or interference" with the ongoing CBI investigation on it, according to a senior official.

There has been no official confirmation regarding this news.

But some other sources have stated that the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) report concluded that the accident occurred due to human error on the part of an on-duty official in the Signalling and Telecom Department as well as the Traffic Department.

The officials failed to follow the standard operating procedure in place for train operations, according to the sources.

"We will not be disclosing anything on the CRS report as another independent CBI inquiry is underway. This is to ensure that this report does not in any way influence or interfere with the other report. We will take cognisance of both the reports and make an overall evaluation of the incident and then take whatever steps necessary," a senior official told PTI.

On Thursday, the South Eastern Circle CRS AM Chowdhary completed his investigation into the accident and submitted the report to the Railway Board. However, on Friday, high-ranking officials of the board declined to comment on the report, claiming that they had not yet reviewed its contents. Normally, such reports are shared with top officials to address any necessary course corrections as recommended by the CRS.

Officials noted that in previous accidents, the CRS would submit an interim report within a week before the final report. However, this time only one report has been submitted. To prevent any unauthorized disclosures, officials have been instructed to ensure the report remains confidential.

Following the accident in Odisha's Balasore district on June 2, in which three trains collided, causing the loss of 293 lives and injuring over 1,000 people, the Railways took action by transferring five senior officials from the South Eastern Railway, as they were responsible for the jurisdiction where the accident occurred.

The collision took place when the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express mistakenly entered the passing loop instead of the main line near the Bahanaga Bazar station, colliding with a stationary goods train. Simultaneously, the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express collided with the derailed coaches of the Coromandel Express on the adjacent line, resulting in some of its bogies derailing.

Besides the CRS investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also conducting its own inquiry into the accident. Preliminary findings have indicated that the accident may have been caused by interference with the signaling system, either due to negligence or deliberate intent.

New Delhi: More than 2.74 lakh posts in the Railways are lying vacant as of this month, with over 1.7 lakh of them in the safety category alone, the national transporter has said in response to an RTI query. In its reply to the questions filed by Chandra Shekhar Gaur, a Madhya Pradesh-based Right to Information (RTI) Act activist, the Railways said 2,74,580 posts are vacant in Group C category, including Level 1 or entry-level staff.

This includes 1,77,924 vacancies in the safety category, it said.

"The total number of non-gazetted posts vacant i.e. Group-C (including Level-1) in Indian Railways, as available in this office, as on 01.06.2023 (provisional) is: 2,74,580," the ministry said.

On the safety category, it said there are more than 9.82 lakh posts of which over 8.04 lakh are filled.

"Total number of sanctioned, on roll and vacant posts in safety category of Group-C (including Level-1) in Indian Railways, as available in this office, as on 01.06.2023 (provisional) are: 9,82,037, 8,04,113 & 1,77,924 respectively," the response said.

Railway spokesperson Amitabh Sharma said the issue is being addressed through direct recruitment, expeditious promotions and moving non-core staff to core jobs after training.

In December 2022, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Parliament that 3.12 lakh non-gazetted posts were vacant in the Railways.

Safety category are personnel directly involved with train operations. They include key profiles like loco pilots, trackspersons, pointsmen, electrical works, signal and telecom assistants, engineers, technicians, clerks, guards/train manager, station masters and ticket collectors.

The shortage of staff in key posts has been flagged by railway unions regularly. In fact, rail unions have urged the ministry for more posts in track maintenance, fitness, senior and junior section engineers, gangmen, and technicians.

Eaplainign how this has affected the onground work, officials said is tremendous pressure on the workforce and the one on-ground staff has to cover eight to 10 km daily to inspect tracks.

"This is a sensitive job that requires more attention and it's difficult for them to cover so much distance," an official said.

Officials said the Railways, which has set a target of filling up 1.52 lakh vacancies by October 2023, has already provided letters of appointment to 1.38 lakh candidates. Out of these, 90,000 have joined. They said 90 per cent of these posts are of safety category.

After the horrific Balasore tragedy on June 2 in which more than 280 people died, the Railways directed its zones to launch a "special drive" to fill promotional vacancies especially in the safety category, amid mounting criticism from the Opposition and intense demand by the railway unions.

Railway spokesperson Amitabh Sharma said the national transporter is filling up posts by direct recruitment and also expeditious promotions.

"Apart from this, posts in non-core activities are being identified and they are being converted to core-activity. Existing manpower who are presently doing non-core jobs are being moved to core-jobs after being trained," he said.

An anonymous letter warning of a "Balasore-like train tragedy" on the "Hyderabad-Delhi-Hyderabad" route was sent to the South Central Railway (SCR) here recently, official sources said.

The letter dated June 30, 2023 was addressed to Divisional Railway Manager of Secunderabad Division under the South Central Railway and it allegedly mentioned the possibility of a "Balasore-like train tragedy" in the next week on the "Hyderabad-Delhi-Hyderabad" route. The letter was received by post last week.

The SCR authorities informed the Telangana Police about the letter.

"...the letter was received last week by post and was given to the State Intelligence for further action," SCR sources said.
