Inside the White House-Cabinet battle over Trump’s immigration order

He [added clarification: Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly] would issue a waiver for lawful permanent residents, a.k.a. green-card holders, from the seven majority-Muslim countries whose citizens had been banned from entering the United States.
White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon wanted to stop Kelly in his tracks and told him not to issue the order. Kelly, according to two administration officials familiar with the confrontation, refused to comply.
Two sources told me [added clarification: Author Josh Rogin] that Bannon visited Kelly’s office on Jan. 28 to deliver the message.
The disagreement between Bannon and Kelly pitted a political operator against a military disciplinarian. Respectfully but firmly, the retired general and longtime Marine told Bannon that despite his high position in the White House and close relationship with President Trump, the former Breitbart chief was not in Kelly’s chain of command, two administration officials said. If the president wanted Kelly to back off from issuing the waiver, Kelly would have to hear it from the president directly, he told Bannon.

Commentary: Trump was elected. Trump is Kellys boss. Bannon is not Kellys boss. Kellys job is to advise Trump, but not to be Trumps plenipotentiary in giving instructions to people who are subordinate to Trump but not subordinate to Bannon. He should have stayed out of this, assuming the Washington Post report is true.

Bannon's (chief strategist of Trump) worldview has been greatly inspired by Dharmic thought given in Geeta according to Diplomat.

So he joined the long list of Heinrich Himmler, Aldous Huxley and Robert Oppenheimer etc who were inspired by Geeta.

So the true Dharmic followers are to be found to be in west free from medieval corrupted dumbfuckry, fake cults like Radha, fake thekedar of Hinduism and Gurus such as Asaram Rapist and Kripalu and useless rituals along with true 56 inch as Trump.

Shia terrorists from Iran? I'm not a fan of Iran but for me they are way down in the list after all the Sunni countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia
Both Shia and Sunni countries are exporting terrorists ... Saudi's and Iran are equally responsible...

I am bit curious to see how Trump handles both Saudi's and Iran...

It seems that Trump is in a hurry to get things done... this is exposing Trump for more attacks from his oppositions / hecklers ... I see a danger here for things going out of control for Trump...

consolidate position and then act !!

This is CNN's characterization in the title: Trump defends Putin: "You think our country's so innocent?"

Excerpts:
Trump made the remark during an interview with Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, saying he respected his Russian counterpart.

"But he's a killer," O'Reilly said to Trump.

"There are a lot of killers. You think our country's so innocent?" Trump replied.

What he did was present the fact that there are lot of killers, including the United States. This is called a “tu quoque,” not a “defence.” One couldn’t blame Trump for speaking the truth.

LOL at liberals! These guys have lost the plot! Populist movements have sprung up around the world not because of majoritarian rule or authority figures but because of anger against globalist attitude. 8 people around the world control 50% of the world's wealth. Wars materialize out of nothingness in Middle East leading to massive migrant wave in EU and USA.

If this goes on. EU will vanish and whisky swilling suave sickulars will find their privy purses run dry.

I think the first two episodes of "Yes Minister" captures similar scenario, but ultimately civil servants win.

did judge rejected president Justice department appeal ?????

Now if something happens that Judge would be surely made villain by trumps cyber warrior
First of all, this judge was appointed by Bush, a Republican.

Secondly, the judge obviously has seen some technical flaws with Trump's executive order, or the execution thereof.

Basically, if the US has issued a VISA or Green Card to someone, it means that the US government has allowed that person to enter into and live in the United States. If they must be prevented from entering, it has to be done by revoking their VISA or Green Card, and to do that, due process has to be followed. Everyone is entitled to due process, but not the outcome. In this case, it appears that the due process has not been followed.

The newest sanctions were from Obama and they were also Executive Orders. They can be rescinded by Trump's Executive Orders. CNN is doing this because Trump's refusal to be hostile to Russia is done by a Republican. CNN did not do this when Obama wanted the "reset button." It is all political partisanship. The same thing applies to Fox. They were hostile to Obama, but not quite so with Trump.

It's the same old horse and elephant show.

@pmaitra : What are the categories of peoples considered as immigrants in the US?
If I'm not mistaken H1b, green card etc are considered immigrants while students on students visa are not, right?
What about immigrants who naturalize? Technically they shouldn't be considered as immigrant, right?
Or am i wrong?

Just trying to figure out what is included in the 46M immigrants figure of the US.

Anyone who enters any country is an immigrant.

So, anyone who enters the United States is an immigrant.

If one swims across the Rio Grande, he is still an immigrant, albeit, an illegal one.

Now, when to use this term is contextual.

F1 is a non-immigrant visa. So, if one immigrates via an F1 visa, he has immigrated for a short period of time, and does not intend to be an immigrant to the country.

On the other hand, H1B is a dual intention visa. If one immigrates using the H1B, he may chose to make his initially temporary immigration turn into a permanent immigration, and this happens when the permanent labour condition is satisfied, aka, approved by USCIS.

So in conclusion H1B visa and green card holders are technically part of the 46M immigrant population of the US.
Naturalized citizens are not part of the immigrant population as they are citizens.

Also if in hypothetical situation trump or anybody else removes all immigrants as of now, then the population of the US would be around 280M and not 325M. Wow, just look at that drop :D
