I hope this is the right thread.

Hi folks. I have been attending Aero India ever since the first show "Avia India 93" in 1993. So this year is no exception. But this is the first time I am making a post about it on DFI. I have often had a little get together at home to coincide with Aero India. Once again this year:

My place will be available a get together on Friday 17 Feb 2017 from 6 PM to 10-30 PM. It will be an informal get together of interested people and I decided to combine DFI folks with the BRF folks for this. I have already informed and invited Yusuf.

My place is open for the meet and there will be some light munches and soft drinks. No dinner though.

People who want to come must email me on bennedose a t h o t mail d o t c om for directions and a phone number. Please identify yourself with a DFI handle.

Note: Please make the subject line "Jirga Aero India 2017 ". I will set up an email filter and the email will be missed if that subject line is not there

I will respond with directions and a phone number. I prefer calls to SMSes - SMSes don't work well with me

Cobham will be attending Aero India this year (14-16 Feb) to showcase some of some of its flexible technologies and capabilities.

Held biennially since 1996, this year’s show (the 11th) will showcase aerospace, defence, civil aviation, airport infrastructure and defence engineering products at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Cobham will showcase a range of flexible and innovative solutions, both commercial and off the shelf as well as niche/specialist products.

Subject matter experts will be available to discuss the products and services displayed or any additional customer needs.

Cobham’s exhibit will include technology such as:

SATCOM:

  • AVIATOR S for air transport solutions: The SATCOM solution brings nose-to-tail next generation connectivity to commercial airlines. FANS 1/A-compliant, AVIATOR S Series not only enables safety services over SwiftBroadband, but also intelligent fleet management and efficient operations - all in a smaller and smarter package.
  • A700D upgrades which provide faster, lighter and more effective communications.

Mission Systems:

  • Advanced Missile Launcher (AML-014). Cobham’s state of the art missile rail launchers provide weapons interface compatible with the latest Air-to-Air missile developments.

Antenna Systems:

  • A range of commercial and military Air antennas. Cobham offer a set product range as well as developing custom antennas, whether it be antennas for positioning, direction finding systems or supersonic applications.

AvComm:

  • Cobham Modular Platforms: a fully integrated SCA test platform that supports the entire SCA lifecycle, from simulation through development, then into production and field test will be demonstrated.

Aerospace Communications:

  • Space and defence microwave components, systems and test benches.

Cobham provides avionics, connectivity, slip rings and microwave systems for air and space platforms

@Mikesingh They are unarmored. Doing CAS without armour is a dangerous proposition. Losing aircrafts hurt, losing skilled pilots to a WW2 era AAA hurts more.
Agreed! But its small size/radar signature is its best defence!
