Can you foresee Europe coming out of NATO and joining against the US. Its not just having an alliance but having an alliance of the caliber of NATO, having other countries ( including EU) allowing your military bases to operate there. Hell even Russia is now under NATO shield ... It's not going to happen, let alone the fact India has no ambition for it to happen- because of its non-aligned nature and the Chinese, well, their BFF's are the world's pariahs ... hated by 98%.

Culture and blah blah. Seems like Chinese will start a new propaganda claiming "Everything comes from China" and "Everything belongs to China from Historical/Geographical perspective". May be South East Asia and India's North East belongs to them because the natives are racially similar to them. India was fortunate to have a few good fellas in our Central government who kept India an inch away from the shadows of Uncle Sam, otherwise we were going to get ruined like our western neighbor. Just because we see a threat in China doesn't mean that we will sit in USA's lap, we are not so naive. We haven't forgotten USA's role in 1971 war. We haven't forgotten how CIA promoted and financed insurgency in Punjab and NE.

Alliance between India and USA can be described as an alliance of necessity at best, both sides are being opportunist, once the purpose is served, we will part away and go separate ways. One US report has identified BRICS as a potential threat to their national security, and USA's presence in Indian Ocean is a threat to the national security of India, if not today, then tomorrow.
