So basically you are asking if India should copy the model of Armee de terre. It is a rapid effects Army.
You couldn't hold it in could you ;) If it is not Off topic you could probably elaborate on the rapid effects army.

for Sri Lankan army; light mech infantry played a crucial role..... it was monumental in breaking LTTE defense line in Jaffna peninsula which stood for countless attacks by regular infantry units throughout the 2006.....
That would probably useful against COIN operations in J&K n against Naxals. But I guess Kunal would have a better idea.

Anders comes in different variants, i think it's the best we could get, it even comes in a tank 120mm version, get a massive order + rights to modify and develop it further, this version can be fitted with the Nag, Anti Air missiles, mate it with one of ATK's 30 or 40mm guns. It would take too long to develop one our selves, we just buy around 5000 of them with a small number coming from Poland and the rest made in India. It's the ideal replacement for the BMP and the perfect tool for our Marine infantry forces, at 35 tons it's even ideal for airlift by our C-17, a couple of these could easily airlifted by a single C-17.

There is a reason i posted it should be a 4X4 vehicle..

The concept that i imagined can only be made in India..

They appear in post #110, although I can't id the vehicles.

Here's a link to 2 types.

Pandur II 6x6 and 8x8 Light Armoured Vehicles - Army Technology
Nopes it gives the concept of Stryker but no mention what are different implications of using 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 types.

I guess kunal can shed some light on this.

imho a 4x4 might be more light BRDM a lightly armoured scout vehicle.

a 6x6 and 8x8 might be a good platform for IFV or APC and usefully for full scare war as well as COIN ops

Yes this type of platform along with Light battle tank 20-26 ton will be handy in north east area where infrastructure is not suited for heavy battle tank

The Whole Concept is based on 4X4 platform, No 8x8 or 6x6..

Yes, And there is more update, New upgrades are coming in and there are indications that Motar can be MGS too..

So two in one less logistic effort..

I guess Kunal's vision is a similar structure like...

An APC/IFV not scout vehicle like BRDM.
I was not being specific on Stryker my question was more like what are the implications of having an APC 8x8 or 6x6.
