This is hardly "Inside Out DRDO." This is more like DRDO's high altitude agriculture, with a parting glance at under-water suits. :)

Good and informative video though. Thanks for sharing.

Army Tramples on Faulty DRDO Study on Siachen Deployment

Army Tramples on Faulty DRDO Study on Siachen Deployment | Corruption In DRDO

A study by Defence Research and Development Organisation, India's premier defence research institute, to find solutions and shorten the acclimatization period has been junked by the Army.
From the link:

Reacting strongly to the samples of troops taken, that had men who had already served in high-altitude postings, the DGAFMS raised concerns on the validity of conclusions drawn from the data presented.
How much time elapsed before these men were used for the test? Was it more than one month? Did the DGAFMS clarify that?

"Current knowledge on the phenomenon of de-acclimatisation is limited. It is accepted by many experts in the field that certain physiological changes induces on exposure on high altitude may persist beyond one month of return to sea level.
What percentage of the total number of samples will display physiological changes beyond one month?

"Current knowledge on the phenomenon of de-acclimatisation is limited. It is accepted by many experts in the field that certain physiological changes induces on exposure on high altitude may persist beyond one month of return to sea level."
That's right. The DGAFMS has limited knowledge to base its "strongly worded letter on."

Anyone who plays the "patriot card" should be properly vetted. A person who claims to be a "traitor" is most likely speaking the truth, but a person claiming to be a "patriot," you never can tell.

The army often behaves like an obstinate child. The scientific methods must be embraced and tried. The effectiveness can only be known after certain time. This resistance to new techniques is complete foolishness.

Well this is what they do with subsea divers. They gradually pressurize them in a chamber and then send them for a dive through a bell. If it works there, why wouldn't it work in Siachen? Only thing is, the pressure is opposite.
