Defying inclement weather and rough sea conditions, @IndiaCoastGuard ship Amartya in a daring operation rescued 13 crew from Dredger Tridevi Prem off Mangalore early morning today. Crew abandoned dredger due to severe flooding onboard.

Am i reading this right - that the 400+km Brahmos will be skewed to a 170Km SCANTER radar?

Also How is a coastal missile battery an "offensive punch" ??!
Seems like DDM, in IA, each Regiment has 6 batteries each usually has 4 launchers with 3 missiles each or 12 missiles i.e 72 missiles per regiment.

Ideally in this case we have 2 regiments with 2 batteries each with 4 launchers * 3 missiles, hence 48 missiles in total, more or less fits the cost estimate.

Sorry if already posted earlier.

Make in India: MoD issues RFPs for shipbuilding projects worth Rs 15,000 crore

https://www.financialexpress.com/de...ilding-projects-worth-rs-15000-crore/1625065/

Excerpts

Six Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMVs) has been issued to seven [Indian] shipyards

Eight Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs)

12 Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) [6 among them for Army. (Probably for Rann of Kutch border)]

Eight Missile-cum-Ammunition Barges

Also,

Effort to encourage smaller shipyards, participation in the projects with the anticipated annual outflow of less than Rs 75 crore has been restricted to smaller shipyards having an average annual turnover less than Rs 500 crore.

OT but a good read for all those who think that weapons development delays and problems are only an Indian problems:

Quote "Trials have become a joke...The first several LPD-17 ships were accepted with many thousands of hours of incomplete work. The early LCS’es were accepted with incomplete compartments. Zumwalt was accepted with none of its combat systems installed.Ford was accepted with major systems inoperable and compartments incomplete" Unquote
