A foreign criminal convicted of a terrorism offence in Britain has used refugee laws to overturn the Government’s bid to deport him, it can be revealed.The Kenyan man is now free to apply to permanently stay in Britain despite admitting to having ‘an extremist mindset’, court papers show.In one of the first cases of its kind, he successfully argued his rights as a refugee outweighed the risk he poses to the UK in a judgment that has just been made public.

  The man, who can only be identified by the initials NF, claimed he would be subject to ‘ill treatment’ if sent to Kenya.
  
  He was caught at Heathrow in 2011 returning from the east African nation with a huge haul of terrorist material stored on an iPod.
  
  Court papers reveal this included audio files said to be made by Al Qaeda and images of armed persons with flags associated with Al Shabaab, a linked terror group.
  
  Detectives later found more materials at his home. In 2013, NF was given a nine-month jail sentence for ‘possessing information useful to terrorism’.

  This consisted of a document entitled 39 Ways to Serve and Participate in Jihad, which the trial judge described as a ‘terrorists’ manual’.
  
  The Home Secretary at the time then tried to deport NF and his wife KKA, who both lodged asylum claims to stay in Britain.
  
  Home Office officials argued the couple were not entitled to humanitarian protection under the Refugee Convention because of the risk NF posed.
  
  But despite hearing NF had accepted he had an ‘extremist mindset’, in 2016 immigration judges upheld an appeal by the Kenyan nationals.
  
  It meant NF and KKA were allowed to remain in Britain and pursue an asylum claim.
  
  The Home Secretary attempted to overturn that decision but a newly published judgment reveals the Government has lost.
  
  Upper Tribunal vice-president Mark Ockelton and judge Mark O’Connor said the threshold for ‘threatening international peace and security’ had not been crossed.
  
  David Davies, MP for Monmouth, said: ‘This goes to show how totally out of touch our courts have become... It’s absolutely insane that judges and the courts are allowing this to happen.’
  
  A Home Office spokesman said: ‘We do not routinely comment on individual cases.’ The spokesman would not discuss the status of NF and KKA’s asylum claims.

Countries backing India on Kashmir will be ‘hit by missile’: Pak minister rakes up nuke threat

Invoking the nuclear war threat once again, a Pakistan minister has said that countries supporting India over the Kashmir issue “will be hit by missile” and considered as an “enemy” of Islamabad.

“If tensions with India rise on Kashmir, Pakistan will be compelled to go to war. Those countries backing India and not Pakistan (over Kashmir) will be considered our enemy and a missile will be fired at India and those nations supporting it,” Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur was quoted as saying by ANI at an event on Tuesday.

The remarks come at a time when Pakistan has been snubbed globally over the Kashmir issue.

Tensions between India and Pakistan spiked after New Delhi on August abrogated Article 370, that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.

India has left no stone unturned to thwart attempts by Pakistan to internationalise the Kashmir issue at all the international forums be it at the UN or any other forum.

India has categorically told the international community that the scrapping of Article 370 to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was an internal matter and also advised Pakistan to accept the reality.

Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that there is a possibility of a conventional war with India that could go beyond the subcontinent.

“When two nuclear-armed countries fight, if they fight a conventional war, there is every possibility that it is going to end up into nuclear war. The unthinkable,” he said.

Prior to the PM’s statement, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while addressing media at the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), had said that the “possibility of an accidental war with India cannot be ruled out”.

The comments came weeks after a Pakistani minister had reportedly predicted a “full-blown war between Pakistan and India likely to occur in the month of October or November”.

A day after the Indian government abrogated Article 370, Imran Khan had warned of “Pulwama-like incidents to happen again”.

No one is restricting Shitistan's share of water. Napakis and mother nature are doing a pretty good job of it themselves.

What we are aiming at is the full utilisation OUR share of Indus basin waters i.e. waters of Ravi, Beas and Sutlej and 3.2 MAF of Indus, Jhelum and Chenab waters that we are allowed to use for power generation, irrigation and other "non-consumptive" uses.

So far Napakis have had a free ride in terms of river waters since we did not use our allocated share, so it all flowed down to Shitistan and they reaped the benefits. On Tuesday, Srinivasan Jain of NDTV fueled a dubious conspiracy theory about the involvement of Madi Sharma who apparently sent out the invitation to the Members of the European Union Parliament (MEPs). The MEPs visited Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Srinivasan Jain provided some superficial information about the woman and asked the question, ‘who is Madi Sharma, and what are her credentials to deliver on such a big promise?’ Since Jain calls himself a journalist, one would have expected him to provide an answer to the question as well but he did not. Instead, he only provided very superficial information which only fueled the mystery around Madi Sharma’s identity.

Jain ended his conspiracy theory tweet thread by asserting that it was unclear how any of the credentials he shared on Twitter makes Madi Sharma qualified enough to organize a meeting between MEPs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One would expect journalists to do their necessary homework first before engaging in meaningless speculations that only fuels distrust against the Indian government without good reasons. However, journalistic integrity appears to have been thrown down the toilet here.


As it turns out, Madi Sharma is a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). Importantly, she has been a member of the EESC since 2002. Furthermore, she was made a UK member of the forum through an appointment made by the Prime Minister of the UK himself. In the said Committee, External Relations are one of her areas of interest.

From Madi Sharma’s CV, it appears quite obvious that she is a well-connected individual who is well acquainted with the functioning of the European Union Parliament. As a member of the EESC and President of the EESC Committee On European Instruments for Human Rights and Democracy, it appears par for the course that she shares a professional relationship with the elected representatives of the European Union Parliament.
