From a test flight perspective testing a ICBM to lofted trajectory allows one to

1. test qualify the RV to its outer boundaries of the max possible reentry angles etc etc

2. A lofted trajectory allows for longer flight time and slower speed of payload which in turn allows one to " experimentally" demonstrate the full capability of the package vis a vis deployment , guidence package , decoy dispersion and manuvers if any to the audience

3. Importantly validates the capability to hit targets at much closer ranges.

So Agni 5 is not necessarily China centric , if required can hit porkistan with a lofted trajectory or even a super lofted trajectory.

However long range SLBMs will use depressed trajectory to hit targets at closer ranges.

1.5 ton conventional payload has in excess of 5000km range, Indian nuke warheads weigh between 250-800 kg depending on age and design being deployed. A single 800 kg warhead or 4* 250 kg warheads would easily allow for targeting at ranges of around 6500-8000km.

Someone informed me that A3 was tested with MIRV, three of those.
So you are right on that count.

I though MIRV Tests are being delayed for induction of the new instrumentation ship, Isn’t it?

4 x 250kg warheads nead some stuff so as to deliver each warhead on the right target. It weight a lot.
Same when there is more than one warhead. I think it is called "a bus"....

Why?

Dont land base LRTR could track 1500 kms with over 200 objects. Why you need MIRV to be track by them?
