please forget about police modernization in india. i recently listen that U.P. CM mayawati asked 480 crore for police modernization from central govt and the same year she spend more than 500crore for building parks.....so please forget that our leaders can ever thing about that...

Those are Sterling guns (carbine), but you are right, they are WW2 era technology.

someone should find pics of uttrakhand police, possibly the fittest chaps and women around, and how elegantly these people are dressed up, with fine haircuts and crisp uniforms and its a rarity to find a pot belly cop. they can give the army chaps a run for their money, though one will still find them with a .303.
