By spending some 500 on oil we can get some 10,000 worth groceries. Ghar ka mustard oil, dal, wheat rice extra.

We will buy Nexon EV once our house in city is done and dusted.

Nano's poor reception makes this project unviable. The European version will be most likely a Quadricycle since it will not able to pass ENCAP. So it will fight against Citroen Ami, Renault Twizy etc.

Another problem is Nano EV may have lot of check and balances.
1. Li -ion - Price increase, alternative - Lead acid - Less range.
2. Price - Li-ion version will be priced equivalent to swift, tiago etc. Better car compared to Nano.
3. Due to small size - battery pack will be small hence less range.


Hence the project in in back burner. But there is a Nano EV being tested by Jayem motors (JTP guys.) But no reports on launch.

The current EV's/future EV's will always be expensive. We can't expect cars like Alto and Santro ( cheap & reliable entry level cars) due to fact of various compromises to be made on converting to EV.

so it indeed was a concept from Tata themselves.

What i think the issue was that the EV ecosystem was not at developed that time. Tesla was in baby state and Tata could not have created a full blown EV successful at that time.

They should probably come up with a better battery replacement policy for EVs, Currently Battery is the most costly part of the EV and it a hassle to replace. Some replacement cost upto 2 lakhs.

No folks, that Gill truck body isn't what India should be having on its roads in 2022.

Never thought someone in DFI will mention Gill truck body For every truck he mentions how the body is built for overload. But my experience with Kerala bus drivers has not been good. Some of them drive outright crazy.

Egresss , ingress will be tough for Old folks in Altroz...As it sits low on road... 2 cents.

Also DCT is problamatic so far...if going for auto box
