Early Y-20s used Ruskie DK-30 but far more Y-20s and H-6s has been built since last order from Russia many years ago so they were switched to WS-18.

WS-20 is just the fat high-bypass brother of the WS-10 engine family which powers everything from J-10C to J-16 to J-20!

WS-18/DK-30 is more suitable for H-6 bombers than Y-20 because it is lower bypass (faster speed, high fuel consumption) with a slimmer profile:

So Y-20A is currently not fuel efficient with less power than Y-20B.

So once WS-20 is in full production, Y-20 will drop WS-18 for H-6 production and everyone will finally use their right engines!
