That's what struck me. I was trying to douse it off but this dude deliberately held on to my collar and fighting like a thug. My statements were generic, not aimed at him, not attacking him, if he doesn't agree, he can either counter it with facts or ignore them altogether, instead he was making it look as if I have personally made a phone call to him and said something bad. If someone claims to be old then one expects him to have commensurate maturity. He can't expect to be respected like an old man while behaving like a child. It's a public forum, people will express views, it's not necessary that all of them might be favorable to your political ideology. What's the need to picks fights on individual level when the comments have been made against an ideology?

This is how closeted commies shield the ideology of communism by pretending to be personally affected by the criticism. The Malda incident was some sort of blackmailing by her own district leaders to extract more from Mamta... sending a message that we will revolt else Mamta fall in line... BJP is making steady in roads in those areas and example was BJP winning from Bashirhat quite un expectedly one year ago in assembly by election...

Now coming to CPM / CPI their leaders except a few top one's always participated in religious functions be it Durga Puja & Kali Puja... The Crisis CPM / CPI is facing that their supply line for leaders are cut or gone ... there used to be steady supply of leaders from CU & JU but for last 30 years we see their student leaders are indulging in drugs, sex and illegal activities under the umbrella of erstwhile CPM government... so they started production goons rather than leaders totally removed from communist ideology... Now you see CPM / CPI with 75 / 80 years old leaders to drive the election the structure is crumbling ... now I hear that CPM / CP & Congress will be fighting together the 2016 election against TMC

Swami Vivekananda is most staunch hindu you can ever find out. Sorry, his statement is to be seen from his point of view and era he lived in. He extolled manliness. He sang paens and admired Guru Gobind Singh's efforts. He despised hindu blaming their lethargy on scriptures. Remember did he not say, playing football would do more good than reading vedas. Sorry sir he rejuvenated Hinduism and there is no doubt about that. He said one thing to this effect, Indians despise their own culture and ape anything English.Its important to teach westerns Vedas and Yoga, because after seeing goras practicing them, Indians will start aping them and rediscover their culture. And how accurate his prophecy/judgement was! So his statement must have been in context of Hindus generally ignoring their physical/physique well being.

No matter how much we dislike, hindu mentality, behavior and physique was adversely affected in areas which were under Muslim rule , due severe repression. As they say meek survived, and meekness hid behind mask of non violence. Lack of self confidence and meekness became part and parcel of ignorant hindu life! Thats why you see Indians rooting for of Chinese, american, British , Arabic systems. But Indian or Hindu way of doing things was too demeaning for them
