@ezsasa @hit&run we beed another Afganistan thread where we dicuss this whole legacy with a military perspective.
This has become a thread for memes and news now we need another thread.

We need to discuss it like we were asked by our boss to make a report for why a certain product failed in the market
let’s do it after sometime in winter, after afghan fighting season closes. right now any discussion on Afghanistan will be distracted by fleeting outrages, let the “social media outrages” subside.

Even at a diplomatic level, going by the meetings that are happening in the region, consultations are happening between the countries on topic of Afghanistan.

4 Guantanamo detainees that the US exchanged with a US soldier in 2014 have now become members of Taliban's cabinet

Do people here consider it a grave American weakness, that they so often give away so much, for the freedom of just a couple of Americans.. I see that this premium that the US attaches to American lives, often gets in the way of achieving American strategic objectives...

Khalilzad was a traitor ,he sold Afg. And Paki ISI did show what they are capable of.
The exit agreement signed with the Taliban on behalf of the Trump administration by the US special envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, in February 2020 was catastrophic in nature. The flaws of this deal were immediately obvious.

An even more significant role was played by Pakistan, the Taliban’s longstanding patron and supplier of sanctuaries, logistical support, and equipment.

But the green light for Pakistan’s invasion of Afghanistan, with the Taliban as its proxy, ultimately came from Washington DC.

Biden has since sought to emphasise that he inherited the agreement from Trump and it was his own decision to stick with it, thus retaining the agreement's architect, 'Zaalim' Khalilzad.

Not really, they have been pumping their soldiers into meaningless wars all over the world, and their strategic objectives keep changing- first it was establishing Democracy, then keeping an eye on CA, then eliminating Al-Qaeda. But, yes, they do attach more value to their dead ones than most of the countries.

Well, the Afghanistan war at least was one in which their soldiers were treated like expendable assets. No value at all was attached to them and they died in vain for the interests of a cabal.

Nope, no weakness.

everything that is happening in Afghanistan is based on consensus between various arms of US establishment. last minute hitches did happen during withdrawal, but that I suppose happens in every retreat to a degree.

For us the unanswered question is
whether this happened to handover entire Asia to China
or for US establishment to withdraw from this part of Asia so that they can focus on some other part of Asia at a later stage.

both possibilities are open as of today.

Probably the latter. This all seems to be heading for a new conflict with China. The Establishment is going to allow John Chinaman just enough room to breathe and become powerful in the region to use its bullying tactics which the War Machine will then use as a reason to start a war with them.

'Prisoner exchanges' themselves are a violation of US Govt's own policy of 'not negotiating with terrorists'.

Anti-Pakistan military commanders like Mansour and Amir Khan factions completely sidelined. No mention of Sadr, Muhammadzai or Gul Muhammad.
Even Mullah Baradar has been demoted to deputy PM status.

I mean did people really expect anything else? Memes and jokes aside this was bound to happen.

These people have been cultivated their entire lives by the ISI and CIA to their bidding some from their teenage itself.

We should not expect any radical shifts in the current decade atlesst till the current crop of leadership is present.

Maybe the next ones might be more dynamic and opposed to suppression.

These are the usual optics for public consumption. Real game would be much bigger. The only takeaway from the statement (I mean only the statement and not the meeting(s)) is that it's been officially pasted on Pakistanis now by both India and Russia.

special responsibility that Pakistan bears

The Paki + Turkey + China axis will be supremely emboldened by this win, particularly if rumors are true that Pak has helped Telebunnies win this round. This is coming after Armenian win and this newfound confidence will be channeled against India next and her destruction.
Am kind of hoping that they really do try to do something against us so that our Gernails are taken out of their slumber and politicos start taking some action against pork. The only sad thing is that some of our soldiers would have to die first (like in uri, pulwama) before the snoring babus wake up !
