HYDERABAD: The 403rd Martyrdom of fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Devji, who compiled Guru Granth Sahibji and sacrificed his life at the altar of dharma was observed with Sikhs devotees and other community faiths with devotion.
The main event was organised under the aegis of Prabhandak Committee, Gurudwara Saheb, Sikh Chawni, Uppuguda where, Sikh devotees and other community faiths participated in the ‘vishaal deewan’ (mass congregation) at Quli Qutub Shah Stadium by offering prayers to Guru Granth Sahebji (holy scripture of Sikhs).
Committee president S Jahan Singh said that the congregation was marked by the recitatings of Holy Gurbani Keertans (holy hymns) by renowned Ragi Jathas (community preachers) who were specially invited from various parts of the country for the occasion.
Bhai Gurpreet Singhji Khalsa, Punjab, Bhai Sakatar Singh, Amritsar, Bhai Hari Singh, Bhai Surinder Singh and other Ragi Jathas rendered shabad keertans, which stressed on imbibing the higher values of life and informed that Guru Arjan stood for national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony.
The traditional Guru-ka- Langar (free community kitchen) was served to all the devotees in a row promoting the feelings of togetherness and concern for fellow human beings.
