Military doctors of the Airborne Forces returned home from Syria
Servicemen of a separate medical unit of special purpose of the Airborne Forces returned home after successfully fulfilling the tasks of rendering medical assistance to the peaceful inhabitants of Syria, RIA Novosti reported to the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Servicemen of a separate medical unit of special purpose of the Airborne Forces returned home after successfully fulfilling the tasks of rendering medical assistance to the population of the Syrian Arab Republic," the department said.
Within three months, military doctors provided medical support to the personnel of the airbase, provided assistance to the civilian population, the department specified.
Reportedly, during the official mission, military doctors rendered medical assistance to more than two thousand civilians, 277 children and conducted more than 130 surgeries. The detachment consisted of doctors, middle and junior medical staff, as well as specialists of the auxiliary services of a separate medical unit.
"Solemn measures for the meeting of Russian military doctors took place with the sound of an orchestra and a large number of flowers from the command of the airborne troops, representatives of the local administration, relatives and close servicemen," the ministry added.
It is noted that military men of the medical detachment are presented to state and departmental awards.
