We enjoy a trade surplus over them and I am fine with that. That's not what the Baki was saying.
He was saying that once India gets the land route to Afghanistan and beyond and once it's up and running, Bakis can and should threaten to close it whenever there's a problem and India will have to bend. He especially mentioned Indus water treaty in this regard. This is the Baki mindset- everything should be used to threaten or browbeat your enemies. This is why the IPI pipeline went nowhere, because GoI fully understood that letting Bakis control the gas supply was suicidal foolish.
How does opening trade with Terroristan choke the Fauji foundation? They will not pay for the trade imbalance anyway. Plus, their companies (proxy or not) will get market access to India (as in the case of cement) and earn them more money. Not to mention Baki "businessmen" getting access to India for "business" and "leisure".
As far as the demand for Indian products is concerned, they are getting their share via imports from Dubai via companies/traders, many of whom are fronts for TSPA anyway. They are making handsome profit, every step of the way, while chootiya inbred Bakis pay through their noses. One reason for Wagah trade going nowhere is this very cosy arrangement.
