It seems Russia delivered some weapons to Niger. Possibly Kornet to shoot up Nigeria's 6 Chinese made VT-4 tanks.

Personally, I don't believe Nigeria has the ability to invade Niger. Nigeria has 6 Chinese made VT-4 tanks but China certainly impose sanction on Nigeria if Nigeria invade Niger and those VT-4 tanks don't work without spare parts.

In reality they will sell their uranium to Russian entities, and then France will have to go with a katora to Russia for precious uranium for the reactors that supply 60% of their country's electricty.
Or get ******s to kill other ******s for the uranium, which if it somehow doesn't devolve into an Islamic jihad spanning all the countries involved, will probably end up with US entities now selling the uranium to Frenchtoasts.

It all looks cool threatening France and US on TV and YouTube Videos. But if France and US plans to go on offensive then all these new leaders will sh*t their pants and take refuge in other African countries.

Niger and other African countries waking up is good. But the way they are openly challenging Western powers despite being so low in the value chain is not going to end up pretty. They should take classes on how to be subtle like the Chinese, who remained cool and calm and built themselves silently.
Rosatom is going to heavily invest in Niger's reserves. There's no denying that Niger has something that Europe wants. The Ruskies sense that and want to draw US-EU military attention away from Ukraine.
Once ECOWAS vs Liberated African states heats up, Russia knows that the US and the French would divert forces and money toward Africa. Without French pressure, Europeans will fall like a stack of cards in Ukraine and Kyiv will be overrun within days.
You don't mess with a country that plays chess as its national pastime.

France might get desperate and invade. ECOWAS is too divided to do anything meaningful, especially when the juntas of Mali, Burkina Faso and Chad along with Algeria are united. NPCI should seriously consider investing in Niger's uranium mines. We need it until Thorium FBRs are ready.
