Modi has got no strategy, he loves watching soldiers dying & his fans think that's some kind of chanakiyan niti
Precisely the bluff of modi is out in open , he is behaving like a dumbo who cant even control Kashmir nor Naxalties .. Conversely the violence has increased many folds and our soldiers are dying like flies

111 Battalion CRPF shot down 5 naxals on 11 march ..

Why is there intelligence failure? Because 'intelligence' in our great nation is busy framing innocent Dalits/Muslims, while real culprits get away.
itne sotte raseedegi police ki chuttad laal ho jayenge tere.

25 CRPF javano mein se tune unke ghar mein ja kar pucha ki kitne dalit thy..

Loss of life is inevitable as we move closer to naxal heartland. However, they are avoidable if proper SOPs are followed.

Unless we have an iron fist to smash these terrorists, which I don't expect us to grow due to this attack, we will carry on with incremental change and I'm afraid our next generations will have to go through this menace as well. Its been over 50 years since this started, how close are we to eradicating it??
which incidentally have never worked and wont ever work

The attack at Kalapathar area of south Bastar region had started around 1 pm. The Maoists had first sent locals to find out the position of the CRPF, a survivor, Sher Mohammad, told the media.

"We were set upon by 300 of them... villagers, women and the militia-types in black uniforms. They carried automatic weapons, AK 47, INSAS rifles," he said.

After the Sukma attack, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh cut short his visit to Delhi and rushed back to Raipur for an emergency meeting."Our jawans will not back down," Mr Singh said. "Sukma is Naxalite bastion. This road, once built, will cripple their network."

New Delhi: Initial investigation into Chhattisgarh’s Sukma Naxal attack, in which 12 CRPF personnel were killed Saturday, have revealed that it was extremely brutal and lethal in which the Maoists not only used arrowhead explosives and IEDs, but they also stabbed the security personnel repeatedly with sharp-edged weapons.

“First, the Naxals used IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and shot several rounds at the CRPF’s road-opening party, following which they stabbed the security personnel. Such brutality by Naxals has not been seen in recent times,” the official added.

People familiar with the matter said the Naxals had laid a massive ambush for the CRPF. What has surprised the security forces was that the rebels used custom-made arrowhead explosives against the CRPF jawans.

The Naxals also fired mortar shells, and it appeared that they were well-prepared, both in terms of ammunition and men, for the massive attack.

Security officials said that it appears the Naxals have managed to acquire the technology for making the mortar shells locally.

Naxal outfits had been lying low for the last few months, especially after the government’s demonetisation programme, as they were facing a severe financial crunch which had severely hampered their operations.

They also managed to escape with a huge cache of arms, which included a light machine gun; at least five AK-47 rifles, an under-barrel grenade launcher and some mortar which are used by security forces in anti-Naxal operations.

  • 1 light machine gun
  • 5 AK-47 assault rifles
  • 1 under-barrel grenade launcher
  • Some mortars used by CRPF in the field

Invite Maoists to hit army, and this gives legitimacy to army deployment? You mean AFSPA going to come in 2, 3 years
Don't think that's what the article is trying to say.

Rather setting up of army base brings roads, communication lines and jobs to the area. Will increase development in the region.

CRPF can continue with what they are doing.

This article seems to be of the previous attack earlier this year.

But yes, In yesterday's attack too they seem to have used those Rambo explosive arrows.

India today was saying they also got away with NVD along with weapons this time.

One has to understand there goals for taking such an plan on first place, It takes lot of resources in both man and material let it be our way or theirs ..

For last few months their seems to be an effort to gather much of automatic weapon as possible, What ever they catch only less than half are operational, It should be also noted that CRPF small and regular ambushes takes away even that so does top candidates along with it, These small operation conducted by CRPF are relentless ..

If you sum of all the nodes you get the picture, Naxal entered the third phase when they attacked our 76 soldiers, By now they should have got at-least half of the state under there total control, This did not happened ..

I don't understand how to decide if their attack was failure or success, after losing 25 soldiers.

Go thru the first give pages or so of this thread. That will give an idea on how it was back in 2009.

Compared to the news articles in the beginning of this thread, most areas talked about then are no longer conflict areas now. The brazenness naxals used to show back then is no longer visible now.

Many long running threads at DFI are historical records by them selves. All members old and new are documenting history just by discussing events on a daily basis.
