If we have to quote Adm Lanba in recent interview, here is something more.

To a question on the Navy’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) project which denied induction of homegrown Tejas of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Admiral Lanba said the Indian navy was the first to support Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in developing the aircraft.

“We are committed to an Indian fighter aircraft which can operate from an aircraft carrier. What has happened with the LCA MK-I is (that) it doesn’t meet our requirement to be a carrier-based aircraft. It doesn’t have the correct power to thrust ratio,” he said.

The Indian Navy, however, continues to support and fund ADA and DRDO for developing a carrier-based aircraft, he said adding several Navy personnel are “embedded” in DRDO labs and working along with those scientists.

“So we are there for indigenisation, we are there to Make in India,” the naval chief added.

So as per this statement, he too said what we are already saying all this time. Its not MkI which IN is interested in, but they are much more vested in MkII version.

The moment Parrikar leaves, Navy chief comes in and kicks Tejas out. Now that the Navy has rejected it, 24 planes later the IAF will reject it reason being the seats are not comfy.

I am telling you AMCA will be a failure too, they will find a miniscule fault and make it a major issue out of it.

What you conveyed is mere exaggerate form of a simple statements, It just you getting on knee-jerking commentary based on your half read article and media slogans ..

On LCA Navy Mk2, he said the concept design for an optimised deck-based aircraft, has been completed and detail design is in progress. When asked about any regrets he had as he prepares to hand over the baton of ADA, Cmde Balaji (Retd) said: “While significant lead up activities towards arrested recovery has been done (NLCA), the actual arrested recovery is yet to take place. I would have liked to have seen it happen in my tenure, but got delayed due to a few failures of aggregates. ( a material or structure formed from a mass of fragments or particles loosely compacted together. )
It said nothing about in article Published on: Mar 29, 2017

Read more at: http://english.mathrubhumi.com/news...aji-aeronautical-development-agency-1.1832969
:

1. Test pilots testimony with regards to issues, Serious vibrations issues.
2. Having serious issues which threaten project in any manner.
3. Having serious rectifying issues.
4. NP1 has set of deadline with respect to arrested recovery tests set by IN.

It said rather about positive signs in project, Read more here : http://english.mathrubhumi.com/news...aji-aeronautical-development-agency-1.1832969

===============

Further article on 8th March 2017, This is what CD Balaji has to speak about NLCA MK1 :

LCA Navy Mk1 demonstrated following Naval Specific and other Technologies:

Supersonic Flight achieved on both LCA Navy Mk1 aircraft
Maiden Ski-Jump was successfully demonstrated by LCA Navy Trainer (NP1) followed by 12 Ski-Jumps with R73 missiles and Night Ski Jump
Hot refuelling is demonstrated and a record flying of 3 hour duration had been achieved in one sortie
In-Flight Jettisoning has been demonstrated
Preparations towards Arrester Recovery are in process.
Weapon & Sensor testing has been initiated
A Naval standard Structural Test Specimen (STS) has been built and integrated with the Main Airframe Structural Test (MAST) rig. Testing towards clearance for Carrier Compatibility Tests (CCT) on aircraft has been completed.

==============================

Again it does not convey as any serious trouble as you are trying hard to convey here ..

As many requested as well as some instructed here that this place is not for oratorical arts, This is a technical forum and best remain that way ..

'You have been warned ..'

In similar way, Someone is making fact out of thin air about NLCA based on half knowledge available on open source ..

How about pilots who are actually close to the program.
Due to the vibration issue, till date the NLCA has not done a single arrested recovery.
The only reason I am now giving the source now, is that for the 1st time the leaving ADA chief Commodore Balaji stated this problem in a interview yesterday.

More recent design of Naval LCA Mark 2. As you can see, changes done to the frame. Mark 2 is intended to be the final operational model. The next two NPs are going to be mark 2s.

My question why can't they select F414 EPE engines for extra thrust as extra thrust only needed by navy not airforce. They seems preety happy with Mk1 and Mk 1 a while Mk2 is cherry on cake.

Apart from fuselage, the wings to seem to have undergone monumental change to assist lift off. The real challenge would be to strengthen under carriage to assist arrested recovery without compromising on the overall weight.

SAAB OFFERS WORLD CLASS SENSOR PACKAGE FOR INDIAN TEJAS LCA

Defence and security company Saab offers a fighter sensor package for the Indian Tejas LCA Mk1A fighter aircraft. The package consist of a state-of-the-art Saab AESA fighter radar closely integrated with a compact electronic warfare suite using Gallium Nitride based AESA technology.

Saab, in partnership with Indian industry, offers a solution that will bring the required Airborne Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Fighter radar and Electronic warfare capability to India and the Indian Air Force. Thanks to our extensive technology development Saab can offer the latest technology, on time for the LCA Mk 1A needs, at low risk.

The AESA fighter radar is developed by Saab with antenna technology based on the latest technologies using Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Silicone Carbide (SiC) substrates in combination with the latest generation of exciter/receiver and processor technology, giving optimum installed performance in a dense signal environment.

The radar has a complete mode suite which includes air-to-air, air-to-ground and air-to-sea capabilities. A built-in memory provides a tool to record a large amount of data from performed flights. Integration in the LCA Mk1A fighter aircraft is enabled by the limited space, power and cooling required.

The EW suite consists of sensors and transmitters developed by Saab and is a highly capable and extremely compact solution that provides essential situational awareness and self-protection. The heart of the suite is an alectronic warfare receiver which is connected to a front end receiver and fin tip antennas inside the aircraft. Included is also an external AESA jammer pod.

The radar warning system is based on ultra-wideband digital receivers and has very high probability of intercept, very good sensitivity and very high selectivity for handling the complex signal environment of today.

The AESA jammer pod is small in size, low on weight and drag. Self-protection is based on Wideband Digital RF Memory (DRFM) that provides advanced jamming techniques and arbitrary combination of jamming waveforms. Transmission is performed by using GaN-based AESA:s. The EW suite also includes ground support systems and recording capability for advanced mission planning and post flight analysis.

Saab’s solutions are based on the latest state-of-the-art technologies and COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) available. The AESA fighter radar and electronic warfare units have no ITAR-restricted (Internationally Traffic in Arms Regulations) components, due to the high degree of Saab in-house developed and manufactured building blocks. Using contemporary technology provides the adaptability and growth potential needed to stay ahead. Technologies are re-used between variants and platforms in order to minimize Life Cycle Cost (LCC).

“In our partnership, the transfer of technology will secure an indigenous Indian capability for series production, maintenance, repair and overhaul capability. Testing and development of the fighter sensor package will have synergies with the systems developed for Gripen,” says Anders Carp, head of Saab business area Surveillance.

Saab has a proven background in tailoring systems to customer needs. This brings extensive experience from having open relations with customers when adapting advanced systems to new platforms.

“Saab is a world leading company in the sensor area and has equipped some 4500 fighter aircraft with radar and electronic warfare systems. This has given us wide experience of successful sensor system integration, testing, and evaluation of radar and EW systems on fighter aircraft,” says Anders Carp."

Mate, no offence, but do you really need to post this in every Tejas thread? Its just that when we see a new post, we get really excited just to find out its the same post being repeated over and over again.
Thanks.
