DRDO Transfers Technology for Bullet Proof Jacket

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has transferred the technology of Bullet Proof Jacket (BPJ) to M/S MKU Limited, Kanpur for manufacturing these for the Indian Army and Para-Military Forces personnel.

The Indian Army General Staff Qualitative Requirement (GSQR) No. - 1438 BPJ technology has been developed by Defence Materials & Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), a Kanpur based premier laboratory of DRDO. This technology is challenging and one of the most significant matured personal protection systems developed by DRDO among the various GSQRs of Indian Army meeting NIJ III+ Standard.

Dr Christopher in his address urged M/S MKU, Kanpur to maintain a strict vigil on the quality of the Bullet Proof Jackets for the Indian Army and the Paramilitary Forces and to collaborate with DRDO to absorb the DRDO developed technologies.

The function was attended by Director General, Naval System & Materials Cluster of DRDO Dr S V Kamat; Director of DMSRDE Kanpur, Dr N Eswara Prasad; Managing Director of M/S MKU Limited Shri Neeraj Gupta besides various corporate Directors of DRDO headquarters.

Thats the BEL designed hand held computer. It is connected to Radio set for data transmission. It does have a set of data encrypting EEPROM for secure transmission and receiving.

This is one of the coolest and most professional looking plate carrier I have seen an Indian soldier wearing. Hope they make something close to this a standard issue in the Indian Army (with a Bhabha Kavach to go with it  )

Wonder why we never think about developing a modular system like the American MOdular Light-weight Load carrying Equipment (MOLLE). We can have something like PALS webbing on all plate carriers and rucksacks. Its going to be so much better than the standard sewed-on pouches our current BPJs have.

As usual, Brishit media is jizzing all over the Internet and IDRW being complete and utter cunts are lending them a helping hand.

These helmets are NOT designed to face 7.62×39 rounds, especially the armour piercing ones.

Then why the hell are fanboys always asking for helmets? Dafuq?
For multiple reasons. Just because it can't deal with 7.62 rounds at point blank doesn't mean it won't be able to stop the same round at distances like 200-300 meters. Lighter weight, much improved blunt force trauma protection, shrapnel and splinter protection, easier to mount NVGs among others.

Our forces should rethink their stance of fancy helmets. They look fancy but doesn't offer protection. Stick with patkas which can stop ak bullets with ease

Isn't there a way to shape this Patkas in something good looking than literal buckets ?

Patka has proved its mettle from time to time. In my opinion, we shouldn't redesign the shape of the patka, however, there is always scope of improvisation only in terms metal used in the patka. You mean like this ?
