IMO that can be mitigated (a bit) by better shooting stance. With the Non Shooting Stance by the Magwell its harder to keep the AR under control.

Maybe I am wrong.
Troops are getting more and more used to the rifle. Looking at this I don't have qualms at outfitting all of the frontline infantry with 7.62x51 battle rifles.

You can fit a scope on any Sig 716i and turn it into a DMR.

The second picture is to give reference to possible kit with AK 203 for the RCL ammo bearer/2IC and BEL holographic sights on the Sig 716i

Don't you think the barrel length is a bit too short for that??

16'' is a compromise between having a 7.62x51 rifle with good ballistic capabilities ~500m and compact enough for close quarters and to fit in a BMP-2.

From m4carbine.net 'Remember that the DMR role is 2 faceted - extend the range of your squad / team to hold off mid-range targets, and to be able to hit reduced exposure or precision targets within 600 meters.'

Great!!! using a battle riffle for CQB...

Using WW2 era Stengun and non ballistic helmets in the first picture
There’s not a single ballistic helmet in all the 4 pictures. That’s an Olive Planet Full Cut Bump Helmet in the 2nd picture.
