European mediaeval armours has complete full body metal suits.

Yet their mobility was not impaired much.

Are modern armour and extra stuff heavier than mediaeval armours?

Thing is, knights rode around on horses, and didnt have to go on long foot patrols, or carry their own weapons and supplies.
