Alrite, taking you to Gujarat, back on to the West coast. Gujarat is famous for its tons of cities, and is the best performing state in India.

Gujarati cities are known for their wealth generation, something these pictures won't necessarily betray.

Gaurav path, the main road in Surat, the world's diamond-cutting capital and where 60% of the world's diamonds are cut.

Ahmedabaad, or Amdavaad, one of Gujarat's larger cities:

This is kinda like what's happening now.

Gandhinagar, the state's legislative and administrative capital.

A Computer graphic rendering of Gandhinagar's waterfront plan, currently being worked on.

Bhavnagar, a small town known for its quaint, rustic-style buildings.

These are very old pics. I'm talking 90's and early 2000's. I couldn't find any new ones. But the cities have changed radically and impressively. I'll post some when I get some.

That's your Tardeo panorama:

This is the view from Cuffe Parade, Nice, eh.

This is the Lokhandwala suburb, very, very far from the main city:

This is Worli, in the fog of evening.

This is a new business district they've been working on, outside of the city:

And a lil' place called Malad <Malad is actually a petty big place, this is near the creek they cleaned up after 5 fvckin' years>

And who can forget the good ol Taj Mahal hotel?

Ok, let's take you back down to Tamil Nadu. This is Salem- known as the 'Steel city' of the South.

This is a little up the hill from Salem, at a place called Yercaud:

On to the 'cow belt'. Some small towns and cities in north-central India.

Patna used to be a notorious city in the early 90's. Today, acc. the Worldbank, it is better to do business in than Mumbai.

Ok now, I want to take you to the western city of Pune.

Pune has grown from a tiny little city 200 km. away from Bombay/Mumbai in the 1970's to a bustling polis with over a hundred and twenty educational institutes and universities located in the city alone, and at least three or four dozen more under construction.

This kinda symbolizes Pune:

This is the EON free zone, as seen from the approach road:

And who can forget the train station:

This, btw, is a new sub-city called Margappa, under development:

This is the sh%t you see all over Pune:

Funky Pune building:

P.S. I think the images need to be re-scaled.

I'll leave you with this. This is a famous tradition during the Ganesh festival"

In all our pictures, we haven't covered much of Gujarat. So, here's a little about Ahmedabad.
