remaining engines ki delivery timeline me thoda delay hai..
but we got plenty in the inventory ,so no delay in the production .

Yeah , defence matrix said it might be wrong because astra mk1 is just 110-120km range missile of sea level it's hard to believe 80km range..
Also astra mk1 from sea level has range of 21km from 8km altitude 44km and from 16km altitude 110km range is achieved..
Correct me if I'm wrong

Well the range could be for ground launched for interception at 16 km altitude, also it employs TVC so the fuel wasted in maneuver using only fins will be reduced, added to that it's longer.

I mean I wrote OF there by mistake , I wanted to write 'AT'.
I said, it hard to believe 110km range missile when fired from 16km altitude can give 80km range from ground launcher

Well, rocket propells for few seconds after that it guides itself by kinetic energy.

Could be "theoretical" range without maneuver considerations, i.e. full ballistic trajectory till it hits the sea floor.

Aim for LCA production for 23-24 was 1 NLCA, 2 LCA MKIA, (8 LCA twin seaters from 2006 & 2010 orders) = 11. Achievement till date 3, another quarter to go in the FY

Reportedly, GE 404 engines received are 75 and GE 414 engine received are 8. Hence, delivery of engine is not an obstruction to production of LCA MKI nor LCA MKIA nor LCA MK2. All delays solely of ADA & HAL

Lol, kuch bhi. The current Tejas weight is 6.6 tons empty and it can carry 2500 kgs of fuel and 4000 kgs weapons payload, thus a total of 6.5k tons payload(fuel and weapons).
So Ajai Shukla is saying, 1.1k tons will be shaved off and the 5.5 tons fighter would carry 6.5k tons payload? Lol, byeee physics!

PS - I would be happy if they can shave of even 300 kgs. Can help with the TW ratio.

mk1A weights 6560kg (510kg has been reduced compared to mk1, 7070kg)
It payload is 5.36 tons
Fuel is 2589kg (130kg more than mk1, 2458kg)

Initially Tejas was certified for 13.3ton mtow.
Then 13.5 ton
The Tejas mk1A which was initially referred as mk2 comes with 14.75 ton mtow.
some say FOC also has 14.7 tons mtow but I'm not sure.. there are some significant changes in FOC compared to IOC.

6560kg+2589kg+5350kg=14509kg.
the LDP pod might weight around 200kg..

tejas surpasses gripen ABCD variants in all terms

I did not mean by weight capacity I mean that Tejas can carry 7x500kg bomb whereas gripen has 16x129kg ,4x230kg and max 8x241kg bombs even with more numbers it won't match tejas's bomb weight load. Tejas has very diverse bomb loads and multiple standoff weapons..

Tejas is delivering this at around 2/3rd the costs of gripen. Or even less..
