Not now tho. Both meant for Su-30 & Mig-29... No info on any IRST pod being planned either.Tejas jet can carry these pods in futureView attachment 77225
So Su30 will carry the MAWS externally in the pods....is that second pod is 32 element variant or 16,since the later one was meant for the LCA and the former one was for the Su30..Not now tho. Both meant for Su-30 & Mig-29... No info on any IRST pod being planned either.
500 mn dollars can get them half a squadron only.Remember Bangladesh still has the Defense Line of Credit uncashed.
The are struggling to keep operational their 8 20-year-old Mig-29s.500 mn dollars can get them half a squadron only.
Bangladesh has only one adversary and that is Myanmar and because it is no more a democracy hence Bangladesh will try to buy some new toys soon. We bought 83 such planes already taking order to q23 which will gain international confidence for Tejas. We should get serious about export orders. The are struggling to keep operational their 8 20-year-old Mig-29s.
They have many other aircrafts that are getting old and some chinese junk like F7.It says on Wiki that the MiG-29 fleet was to be/has been upgraded and life extended. If that is right why would Bangladesh want to replace them?
They tried that decades back, didn't work out. India now helps them maintain the fleet & they're upgrading. Should be done by now.It says on Wiki that the MiG-29 fleet was to be/has been upgraded and life extended. If that is right why would Bangladesh want to replace them?
Thanks for the info. Do I take it that they are not planning to dispose of their MiG-29 fleet in the near future? If so, I don't see why they would be interested in Mk1A at the moment. They tried that decades back, didn't work out. India now helps them maintain the fleet & they're upgrading. Should be done by now.
They got lot of vintage F7 to replace. In anycase let's chill whoever wanted it will come and ask themselves. They tried that decades back, didn't work out. India now helps them maintain the fleet & they're upgrading. Should be done by now.
Currently their birds are undergoing upgrade at Belarus. They tried that decades back, didn't work out. India now helps them maintain the fleet & they're upgrading. Should be done by now.
I am sure India will be ready to extend the credit even more if they are willing to buy.500 mn dollars can get them half a squadron only.
Since Myanmar has ordered FC-1's, Tejas would be an ideal choice for Bangladesh.Bangladesh has only one adversary and that is Myanmar and because it is no more a democracy hence Bangladesh will try to buy some new toys soon. We bought 83 such planes already taking order to q23 which will gain international confidence for Tejas. We should get serious about export orders.
My thought process exactly...Since Myanmar has ordered FC-1's, Tejas would be an ideal choice for Bangladesh.
We must play Aggressor Aggressor just like Uncle Sam.
@Bleh , do you still think your statement is true, considering how many times Tejas has been advertised to carry Brahmos? Will they be scaling down Brahmos for operations with Tejas?Tejas. Will. Never. Carry. Brahmos.
Present air-launched one is 2400kg & the BrahmosNG is to be 1500kg (significant delays, so expect heavier).
Tejas max pylon capacity at 1200kg won't sustain those. The LFRJ is the likely supersonic cruise missile for Mark1A & MWF.
Unless they're planning on Brahmos-NG being below 1250kg, I don't see how!.. Presently known to be 1500kg.@Bleh , do you still think your statement is true, considering how many times Tejas has been advertised to carry Brahmos? Will they be scaling down Brahmos for operations with Tejas?
Thry will reduce warhead, weight by composite usage. Etc.Unless they're planning on Brahmos-NG being below 1250kg, I don't see how!.. Presently known to be 1500kg.
