Well actually that deal for su30 and mig29 was also long coming . It was in works for 2-3 years. It became urgent because without ordering more su30 to be build this year our su30 line will become idle.

Same way domestic mig29 upgrades are almost complete and need the Russian once soon for continuos work on upg program.

Lca mk1a on the other hand will only come by 2023 . It's preparation is going on regardless of deal signing.

So all of these deal have actually nothing to do with Chinese problem of present.

Amca is still on ETMD stage's, so can't say's.

It doesn't actually has to be the same design I mean tailless yes, my thinking is differenT ,it will be smaller yes lighter yes you don't have to go with full stealth, say if we develop this with say a ferry range of 3800-4200 ferry range, with say a combat radius of 1100-1200 km and say range of 2500-2600 km, and even with overall package say we can keep the cost low not a bad deal TBH, my take on this is Pakistan is not far away plus with China the war will be fought on western sector,so this might not be a bad idea besides this could also add as a number multiplier and also manufacturing this will be more faster and with mass production we can surely bring the cost down say 216 f+54 trainers,what do you think.

The cost could be equivalent to tejas due to reduced cost's of stealth aircraft's.

Other thing that can help is we will be using same tech as amca so this could be developed quickly, besides with mass production we can also bring the cost down.

Our startegy of 45 squadrons is flawed we counld need as much as 70 squadron's to take on China's.
