Pakistan fails to reciprocate candle light vigil by Indian peaceniks

ATTARI(Indo-Pak border): A candle light vigil was organised at Indo Pak Attari border last night at 12.00 a.m by the members from Indian chapter of South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) and Hind Pak Dosti including guests from while carrying lighting candles in their hands with the message of friendship, peace and love.
But this time peace lovers and member of SAFMA in Pakistan were not permitted to come near the international gate to reciprocate the Indian side candle light.
Nevertheless to say in the previous two years Pakistani counterparts had reciprocated the candle light vigil of Indian chapter of SAFMA and members of Hind Pak Dosti with great enthusiasm but this time Pakistan Government refuted permission to Pakistani peace lovers to reciprocate Indians.
On this occasion a colorful cultural programme was also organized nearthe Indo-Pak Wagah border by NGO Hind – Pak Dosti Manch, Folklore.
A noted Punjabi sufi singer Hans Raj Hans. Lakhwinder Wadali Diljaan, Lakhwinder Wadali, Satinder Bitti, Satwinder Satti from the Indian side and Zafar Alla Lok from Pakistan, left the audience spell bound with their outstanding performance of their singing art.
A range of dignitaries include noted senior journalist Kuldeep Nayyar, president, Hind-Pak Dosti Manch; Sandeep Pandey, Magsaysay Award-winning social activist; Ramesh Yadav, president, Folklore Academy, SAFMA participated on this colorful occasion.
People from Pakistan were SAFMA Pakistan spokesperson Farah Waraich, South Asia Partnership member Saida Deep actively participated the candle light vigil, since they had come to India two day ago.
However, to ease friction between the two nuclear rival neighboring nations, the peaceniks drafted a peace resolution and urged the governments of both the nations to settle all controversial issues byway of dialogue.
A noted veteran Indian journalists and columnists Kuldip Nayyar said that people to people contact exercise could be enhanced with hassle free visa to each other's country.
Peace process should remain continue in all the circumstances to enhance people to people relation. Visa counters should be set up on Wagah border on both sides to facilitate the visitor of both the nations, said Nayyar.
