the test flight of PT2011 is going well and intensely in this week...the weather condition is the key-- it is quite sunny and cloudless all the day, so this bird was spotted flying everyday so far... pic source: CD forum

what is this in J20 (2011) ?

Looks like air intake for Auxiliary Power unit which is used to start the jet engines of the aircraft.

no...the APU locats in the rear part of the plane...

the positions of air intake(with the cover open status) and exhausts under the fuselage...

the only Tu204 in China has been modified to a inflight testbed for the new radar and avionics of J20 project.

BTW ,there is quite some such testbeds in china's test fight units...

1.the early IL14PB testbed in 1980-90s...most of 147X serial PD radars were mounted on this platform for test in 1990s. this plane has retired..
2.the famous testbed plane--Y8( #079 ) ...the J10B's AESA and J11B's PD Radars were tested on this platform...
3.one of the J11A Prototypes was chosen as the J16 attacter's AESA radar testbed.

4.the Y7 (#713) testbed for the newest H6 bomber varient-H6K's radar(bombing radar).
5.another Y8 platform--#728 for some Special Purpose Airplanes' avionics and radar tests

They should call this aircraft the J-Boat.

It looks so huge that it might as well be a boat.
Is this really what stealth is.

Heck.......you do dont even need a radar to see this.
On a clear day - probably a enemy fighter plane could see this guy 30 miles away with his naked eyes.

Every time I see this thing - it makes me wanna laugh.
They tried to copy the F-35 which is like half the size of this.
