Don't recall any report back in February, of a submarine launched cruise missile test. There must be several instances of missiles being tested unannounced, or in a low profile way.

I always wanted to know to what effect does ITCM/Nirbhay use TERCOM and DSMAC?

Anyone have any DRDO literature to confirm this?

Some info regarding today's ITCM test :
-This wasn't the 1st test, already tested 9+ times successfully.
-The engines are STFE (GTRE), manufactured by BATL (Brahmos), Airframes from L&T, Seeker from BEL.
-Further tests are of LR-LACM production variants, Airframes

^Would these 9 successful tests be in addition to the 7-8 tests of the Nirbhay with the Russian engine( some of which were not successful)? So that means many tests of the ITCM were unannounced, or done in a very low profile way. Most people here would probably only recall 2-3 fully successful tests of the ITCM with the Manik engine.

ITCM + SLCM combined will be around 8 or 9 (including failed tests) since 2020.

The wording is confusing, even contradictory! Aman Routray says 9 successful ITCM tests, no mention of any failures

Here, in a reputed site with a pretty knowledgeable commentator, it is stated this is the *first* successful test of ITCM, with the Manik engine. Even I know that can't be accurate!

It has been discussed in detail in past ig
The limited objective tests were termed as failures by so called journalists

Do you really think that a missile test will involve just a single launch of a missile? Why do you think there are NOTAMS for days at a stretch? There would have been many tests done in a low profile manner, with limited objectives and even full scale tests that were not announced to keep enemies guessing. There is a reason why DRDO scientists have stated that they are happy with ITCM performance. This is just the first announcement of the success of ITCM

Why lr-lacm?
Isn't itcm itself a land attack missile.

What's the actual difference?
Itcm itself has 1500km range
ITCM- Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile.

LR-LACM- Long Range Land Attack Cruise missile. This is a surface launched variant of ITCM. Can be launched from road based TEL or sea based ships.

ALCM- Air Launched Cruise Missile. This is an air launched variant of ITCM with huge structural difference.

SLCM- Submarine Launched Cruise Missile. This is a submarine launched variant of ITCM.
