GSLV engine tested at Mahendragiri

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully conducted the test of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk III’s indigenous cryogenic CE-20 engine at ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri in the district on Saturday.

The CE-20 was ignited and tested for 25 seconds from 7.20 p.m. in the presence of A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman, ISRO, to study the performance of the engine that will play a pivotal role in the rocket weighing about 4 tonne.

“The engine, which will get ignited at high altitude in vacuum during actual flight, performed exceptionally well to meet all predetermined goals,” said sources in the ISRO Propulsion Complex.

Bloody damn!
Cartosat-3 is a much more capable satellite, having a resolution of 25 cm (10"). It uses 1.2 m optics with 60% of weight removal compared to Cartosat-2. Other features include the use of adaptive optics, acousto optical devices, in-orbit focusing using MEMs and large area-light weight mirrors.[2]

CartoSat 2C and 2D already with resolution of 0.65 metres match with US, Israeli and Chinese satellites, wouldn't CartoSat-3 be world's most powerful reconnaissance satellite?

Sorry to break your heart buddy......... But it seems 10" resolution is norm of military satellite. Although no country would divulge the real resolution of their spy sat, so you should be assured that this time too the strategic resolution of CARTOSAT 3 would be much better then this. Even CARTOSAT-2C does have 10" resolution if Wiki to be believed. :)

Well, CaroSat-2C had a resolution of 0.65 metres, meanwhile Chinese satellites have achieved of 0.5 metres. Where does CartoSat-2E stand against'em?

Now the thing is CARTOSAT is not a true spy satellite in itself. IMINT is one of its feature. Means unlike other IMINT sats, CartoSat is not a dedicated IMINT sat. So 0.65 metre is the advertised resolution for non strategic use like mapping and cartography. Rest assured, if its used for strategic use, it resolution should atleast be double of this. But things like these would not come out in open :), only guess work.
