Germany doesn't like India very much in general either. We never did anything bad to them though.

A propaganda cartoon flashed in news there.

German jealousy over India being strong, independent minded, assertive on the global stage, having the 5th largest economy, nuclear weapons capability, long range missiles, a space program, IT prowess, outsourcing, potentially if not actually competitive to Germany in several sectors, world's most populous democracy and one of 4 oldest cultures. It's a broad spectrum of resentment. But if 3 things were taken out of the equation, nuclear weapons, missile and space faring, the resentment would be considerably less. India of course, is not going to oblige them on that, or many other issues!

Not just germany, there is an information vaccum about India in entire europe. our dependance on english as a medium to communicate with the world is partly the reason for this.

when there is an information vaccum, groups take advantage.

solution : amplify India story in european languages. european NRIs can play a role here.

If that would be the case, hate would be more intense since next country India is going to surpass in GDP very soon is Germany (and already has an overwhelmingly superior military). But it is rather than Germany's biblical subscription of American worldview rather than "jealousy" with India.

Certain American allies like Germany, Japan, South Korea and certain small European states believe in American description of world more than America itself.

There these countries give themselves undue importance as "responsible" members of American alliance, (sometimes boosted by their certain achievements too like Germany sees itself as leader of Europe) who can give advice to anyone on any matter.
Obviously since Germany's bread butter comes from China and India too has been in international highlights lately, it will pass on lectures to India.

In India, barely anyone cares about Germany. Germany is not part of our politics. Pakistan, China, Afghanistan, Russia, US and Japan are.

And yes, another apparent reason is India and Germany being competitors of 6th permanent seat of security council.
Germany is not going to get a permanent seat in UNSC as long as India exists as a candidate, regardless of us being in American/Russian/our own camp.

we need not restrict our language to english, we have enough manpower to spare a hundred folks for each foreign language. in other words, english + +.
Each tier ii and iii cities have had multiple foreign language tutorials. The language coaches of these institutions can be co-opted for part time duty. But who is going to provide the funding?

German Armed Forces casualties in Afghanistan

With a contingent of 5,350 soldiers and policemen, Germany was one of the main contributors of troops to coalition operations in Afghanistan. Although German troops mainly operated in the comparatively quiet north of the country, the Bundeswehr suffered a number of casualties during participation in the International Security Assistance Force mission in Afghanistan.

As of October 3, 2019, 59 German soldiers and 3 policemen died in Afghanistan, raising the death toll to 62, with 39 being hostile. Among them are the first German reservists to fall in hostile actions and the first German policemen to die in a deployment abroad since World War II. In addition to these fatalities, 245 German soldiers and 4 police officers suffered injuries of varying degree caused by hostile activity.
