The same facility could be used to launch small polar reconnaissance satellites for military purposes.
DRDO VEDA (DSLV with air and ship launched versions), Agnibaan series (road mobile and air based versions) and SSLV (max 3-4 days preparation time with much higher payload than the former two) are rockets essentially being developed for military sats.

DRDO DSLV VEDA

Good to learn that we have already started preparing for any anti satellite war unleashed by our enemies.
Yes, the VEDA is tailor made for the purpose.

But my original question stands.
Have any studies been carried out on establishing fixed ground based underground silos for launching ICBM's.

Are underground silos even those reinforced to withstand an surface nuclear bomb blast relevant in todays world or have they become obsolete.
Meaning that mobile launch centres are preferable.

Why do the Americans, Russians and the Chinese still have many underground silos for launching their ICBM's.

Are they necessary for India. Or should India be happy with its submarine launched missiles.

Is there no utility to be gained by using silos for our nuclear delivery vehicles.

Do we have even one underground silo for ICBM's constructed in India.
Any photos of the same.

What will be the engineering challenges for construction of an underground silo designed to survive an medium yield nuclear blast.

i haven't looked into this for many years, so don't have factual answers on India's own underground ICBM silos, may be others can pitch in.

on US side, this should help. some of the logics applies for russia and china as well.

Thanks for the video.
It reinforces the idea that silo basing of long range missiles is still technologically relevant in today's world..

India needs to develop its own silo launch facilities.

Do we have already any missile launch silos.
Is the information very classified.

I reckon we can only guess.
