Gandhinagar: Following the central government’s policy of strategic disinvestment of PSUs, the Gujarat government has begun the process of divesting from the state-run PSUs reported TOI on Friday. It further stated that chief advisor to CM, Hasmukh Adhia has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring disinvestment from state-run PSUs. Citing a source, the report also highlighted that the government could form an expert consultative committee to plan certain aspects of the disinvestment.

‘Resources generated through divestment process to be used for debt restructuring’
“The resources generated through the divestment process will be used for debt restructuring and making more funds available for public projects. As per the estimates stated by the state government, the market value of key state PSUs is around Rs 70,000 crore and the value of their assets is between Rs 1.5 lakh crore and Rs three crore,” it reported.
‘State government will be freed from its debts over 3 lakh cr’
According to sources, if the privatisation exercise is completed as per the plan, then the state government will be freed from its debts over three lakh crores as well as annual burden of paying Rs 20,000 crore as interest on the debt. The report by TOI also stated that in the last five years, the state government has paid Rs one lakh crore interest on its massive public debt.

When you don't have proper middle class who could be the driver of consumption and not having developed and mature financial markets, the only things you build are things for top 1%. This is a country which barely has a market cap of it's stock market at less than $40 billion. And most of the companies listed are not even high tech. Most of their real estate will be bought by their top 1% and some rich overseas Pakistanis. Imagine building this kind of housing in 1990's even in Mumbai or Delhi, people would laugh at it. Our country was so poor back in the 1990's the only justification you could give for building these expensive high rises is that you are building it for politicians and rich industrialists in India. Pakis on the other hand are so fast in their development they couldn't care less whether there are people who could buy their expensive shitty housing societies. They simply keep on building and building gobbling up all the arable land.
will have to check with @Haldilal whether apartments with swimming pools existed in India in 90's.

palatial bungalows and farmhouses always existed in India, that's for sure.
Ya'll Nibbiars Way back in 80's at Mumbai.

just out of curiosity, have to wonder if "opinion makers" living in and round delhi are pessimistic and the ones living far away from delhi have a neutral or positive opinions on India's future.
I have heard this. People in America, Europe. Australia appear to be a lot more bullish on India than our local ”experts”. Same goes for Indians who live abroad - non Indians are a lot more optimistic than firangi Indians. Not sure why this is the case. Even in that article the whitey Verizon executive is so optimistic but the desi log are all like no,no,no.

Ya'll Nibbiars New Airlines has been registered with the ROC named Fly91, MD seem to be a aviation veteran and some strong backers. Another ULCC after the Akasha Air. Probably in talks with the Boeing and Dash 8 for potential orders. And will focus on smaller cities. Will add 35 aircraft within few years of the operating and will start it's initial flight from the Goa.

Apple exported more than $2.5 billion of iPhones from India from April to December (msn.com)

Apple Inc. has exported more than $2.5 billion of iPhones from India from April to December, Bloomberg reported on Monday (January 9). The amount is almost twice the previous fiscal year’s total. The report also highlights how some of the Western tech companies are shifting from China when it comes to production. Apple is among other big names that are exploring alternatives to China.

Look at telangana's graph o_O
Small State with small population of 4 crores. Also Hyderabad become one of the top notch cities in our country. So significant growth. Just need to develop tier 2 cities like Warangal etc.

Downside, AP got a turd due to bifurcation and now they need to put massive emphasis on developing infrastructure in their State which they are doing it currently.

Budget 2023 may offer Research Linked Incentive scheme for Indian pharma
RLI is expected to provide an extra financial cushion, in addition to the existing R&D sops available to pharmaceutical and biotech companies operating in India.

By JOE MATHEW, Jan 5, 2023 3 min read

We need such schemes for R&D in electronics as well, and for setting up data centres. Data centre investments are booming in India, we should get some more by incentives...

PLI>>>DLI>>>RLI . This is the sequence by GOI will move. Mentioned in some swarajya article. Hope in coming years DLI and RLI will start to become dominant out of this three.

I stayed in Nagpur in the early 2000s. It was pretty ahead of its time then as well when compared with similar towns.
