So IICC looks like a small project to you? its a $4 billion dollar project and has a total of 300000 sqm convention & exhibition space.
and IICC is not just a tiny exhibition center, it will be an integrated complex with facilities like exhibition halls, convention centre, open exhibition spaces, mixed use commercial spaces like star hotels (5, 4 and 3 star), retail services and high-end offices. The convention centre can accommodate 11,000 persons, 5 exhibition halls, 1-kilometre long foyer, multi-purpose arena with retractable roof.

you are stuck on this skyline point for a few months now mate. my issue with this is that this point needs decades to see the difference.

Personally I know the time it took for Gurgaon, madras and Hyderabad to go thru a change over a period of 15-20 years.

It’s better to have a personal baseline reference point, not internet. if you leave it to internet, every thing is open ended.
I’m not stuck to them, just highlighted how “big megaprojects with flashy skylines” are sold to the gullible people and decades pass away with no progress. Similar will be the new jumla of electronics city in Delhi.

Even if we ignore flashy skyline projects, the redevelopment projects of various garbage places by sarkari NBCC is also going on slow.Hearing RRTS pan-Delhi NCR since childhood yet we know what’s the progress. Tender are floated, cancelled, re-floated, delayed and then forgotten.

people who matter, invest and have skin in the game are not gullible, they are well aware of how market works.

everyone one else is just here to get some bragging rights. if it’s bragging rights people want, there are enough things to brag about which can be corroborated with legit data.

as far as DFI is concerned, We already have one Chandragupta Maurya, don’t need another one stuck in the some loop for months and years.

Because projects like this take time and depend on the market forces a lot. The Govt. can build the infrastructure for the city, make changes in law to make it more attractive to businesses, etc. but it cant build these skyscrapers like you see in Dubai or Singapore. In case of GIFT city, the govt is only going to build the Diamond tower, Crystal tower, Gateway tower and the Naga tower. but they are parts of the last phase of the city's development. But before that phase can begin, these projects must get completed in the activation area of GIFT city, which is happening. The Land in the Activation area of GIFT city is now almost fully occupied. Almost all of the buildings in the DTA area are complete or nearing completion (GIFT 1 & 2, SBI Tower, LIC Tower, BSE Brokers forum, WTC, Presitge Tower, etc.), construction of Residential projects are also at full swing (Sobha, Sangat, Janadhar, SBI are the developers). All the Projects to whom area was alloted in the "others" category have been completed on time (exception being Sterling Hospital). Construction of all the projects In the SEZ area are also complete. Here is the link if you want the proof:

Who are the players?
Vedanta Foxconn JV, IGSS Ventures, ISMC propose to set-up electronic chip manufacturing plants with $13.6 billion investment and have sought support of $5.6 billion from the Centre under the Rs 76,000 crore Semicon India Programme.

Vedanta and Elest have proposed to set up display manufacturing units -- used in mobile phones, laptops etc -- with projected investment of $6.7 billion. They have sought support of $2.7 billion from the Centre under the scheme for setting up of display fabs in India.

Three companies -- Terminus Circuits, Trispace Technologies and Curie Microelectronics -- have submitted applications under the Design Linked Incentive Scheme.

Most likely Vedanta group. Shakti Process is also 28nm right?
Shakti processor is based on RISC V architecture which is an open source architecture. So the companies that might buy Shakti will only be paying for the design & not the architecture it is based on.

It has been built in both 180nm & 22nm chips.

The design was done at RISE lab, Department of Computer Science, IIT Madras, the fabrication was done at the Semiconductor Laboratory, Chandigarh with 180nm technology and the validation by making the whole motherboard at IITM.

Next, in collaboration with Intel, another chip designed in IITM was fabricated in Oregon with 22nm low power technology.

Global foundries used to be a part of AMD before they were spun off as a separate company. Today they are indeed a separate company. AMD has some agreements still that they have to buy some chips from global foundries. Their node is at 12nm and they have failed to go further. AMD these days outsources chip manufacturing to TSMC. Still business at global foundries is thriving with order fully booked until 2023.

We need Deep Ultra violent DUV Lithographic machines for even 14nm node. The advanced Lithographic machines like EUV Extreme Ultra violet are needed for advanced nodes. ASML is coming up with even more advanced Lithographic machines in 2023 for 3nm or lower nodes. We definitely need semiconductor industry in our country. But don't kid yourself. We also need indigenous Lithographic machines like ASML builds to be sanction proof in the future. We need to pour money into R & D to make our very own Lithographic equipment.

Aren't 28 nm processors useless ?
No. Infact these are one of the most used processors in electronics (TV, OTT/Set top boxes, refrigerators, etc.) and automobile industry. Processors smaller and more complex than these are used in smartphones and laptops, which is already a very competitive market.

Those who control the hardware also control the software. Today's smartphone led ecosystem of apps is highly restricted to developers who are "allowed" by platform owners.

Platform owners decide what coding languages should be used.

Companies who have built large server farms control cloud business.

Chip manufacturers decide fate of upcoming standards of communications such as 5G and WiFI.

Crypto itself is controlled by large exchanges who have invested heavily in server farms.

Today's information age depends on complex physical platforms. Countries and people who rely on other's platforms got reality check when they were thrown out of the system for different opinions.

In simple terms software vendors are like grain selling shops, coders are like farmers who grow grains and platform owners are landlords aka Zamindars who control entire market.
You are missing a few points here.
We must all realize that most of these platforms come from a well known x86 and ARM architecture with linux as the base OS.
When people stick to a few programming languages, its because they have decided to use the existing ecosystem of either iOS or Android without actually exploring the underlying OS and its services. (Similarly for cloud)
If we realize that and have funds that can enable us, we can as well create with any language we choose to.

What the current system excels at is, to numb us into using the path they have chosen.
We should be wary of the MSDC's!
