I’m not stuck to them, just highlighted how “big megaprojects with flashy skylines” are sold to the gullible people and decades pass away with no progress. Similar will be the new jumla of electronics city in Delhi.
Because projects like this take time and depend on the market forces a lot. The Govt. can build the infrastructure for the city, make changes in law to make it more attractive to businesses, etc. but it cant build these skyscrapers like you see in Dubai or Singapore. In case of GIFT city, the govt is only going to build the Diamond tower, Crystal tower, Gateway tower and the Naga tower. but they are parts of the last phase of the city's development. But before that phase can begin, these projects must get completed in the activation area of GIFT city, which is happening. The Land in the Activation area of GIFT city is now almost fully occupied. Almost all of the buildings in the DTA area are complete or nearing completion (GIFT 1 & 2, SBI Tower, LIC Tower, BSE Brokers forum, WTC, Presitge Tower, etc.), construction of Residential projects are also at full swing (Sobha, Sangat, Janadhar, SBI are the developers). All the Projects to whom area was alloted in the "others" category have been completed on time (exception being Sterling Hospital). Construction of all the projects In the SEZ area are also complete.
