Ya'll Nibbiars adani could easily lower the debt by raising additional share capital and servicing the debt and selling non startegic assets. Adani promoters owns upto 75 percent on many companies they could easily reduced the percentage thought additional shares offerings

But what about average life expectancy , infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate Bihar has performed far better than Odisha on these parameters
Average life expectancy
Bihar - 68.1
Odisha - 65.8
Infant mortality rate
Bihar - 38 per 1000 live births
Odisha - 44 per 1000 live births
Maternal Mortality rate
Bihar - 165 per 100,000
Odisha - 188 per 100,000
Nothing is as important as the 3 parameters I mentioned above
literacy rate and per capita GDP can be inaccurate
I believe Bihar should be given special category status like Sikkim because the freight equalisation policy imposed on Bihar by the centre lead to de industrialization of Bihar and on top of that Bihar suffers from Devastating annual floods
Bihar was promised special category status when Jharkhand separated from Bihar in 2001
If these are paramount and nothing is as important as those 3 parameters, then Kerala model is what Bihar should adopt.

Kerala , Sikkim and Goa are best when it comes to these parameters
high GDP per capita should lead to betterment of people living in the region otherwise it’s just a jumla
UP , Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh , Bihar , Jharkhand , Assam , Odisha are more or less the same but Bengal is better than these states on the parameters I mentioned above

Try to provide latest data.

149 for Bihar and 150 for Odisha, nearly caught up in at least one among three of your most vital parameters.

----

Life expectancy

Bihar 68.9 vs Odisha 68.4 nearly caught up in that too.

---

It is only the infant mortality rate where Odisha lags behind Bihar

32 for Bihar and 40 for Odisha.

Best leader in eastern India and the best CM in entire India is neither Navin Patnayak nor Yogi Adityanath it’s Nitish Kumar The CM of Bihar
Nitish Kumar may not be good with jumlabaji like Yogi and Modi but he has worked on ground and as a result GDP of Bihar is growing at the rate of 15.36% per annum against all odds now the investors are coming to Bihar because infrastructure law and order has improved
Bro konsi weed smock karte ho! Hame bhi batao.

That’s good atleast you’re quoting the exact figures with source and not doing the jumlebaji like others
Both Odisha and Bihar state government as well as the Indian government should focus on improving the quality of life of the people and not the jumlebaji

The statistics you posted are almost head to head and if you look back 20 years ago, Bihar was ahead of Odisha in many things but the thing is Odisha due to it's good governance has not just caught up but is moving well ahead.

A visit to any major city in Odisha and Bihar will tell you the stark difference in standards of living, healthcare, education and infrastructure.

Odisha's big advantage is that due to it's lower population(TFR is well below 2.1), much better infrastructure and a greater industrial strength will not face much of a challenge in addressing it's socio economic issues in years to come.

Is there any major city in Odisha? Because as far as I know The Total Urban Agglomeration of Bhuwaneshwar is only 8,37,737 (2011)
Patna Metropolitan Region - 20,49,156 (2011)

Ya'll Nibbiars Remeber that the Unlike Tata, Birla, RIL, Vendata The adani don't have a Cash engine don't have significant free cash. RIL is sitting with high cash reserves, TCS have significant cash reserves, And various Birla subsidiarie's have significant cash reserves, Vedata has also modest cash reserves. But adani lacks any significant free cash. They need to slow down or else go the ADAG way's.

Ya'll Nibbiars The wires is at it again saying the Urban poor should get Benifits like the Rural poor. Sab ka sab dikhava hai. Want to destroy working people by making them dependent on the GOI.

Significant percentage of the promoter shares are pledged, meaning given as collateral to banks for raising debt/loans. If Adani is unable to pay off debt he will be forced to sell the pledged stocks to banks for debt reduction.

How do you define standard of living? If GSDP per capita is better, even without having major cities, then it indicates the living standard is better than Bihar, not the other way around.

Best data I could find. Bihar scored better gdp growth rate in previous decade and odisha definitely has an edge due to its mining related industries.

And per data in wiki Both bihar, odisha along with UP and WB(I don't their official data tho) have improved by ~0.2.

Standard of living in my opinion is best defined by average life expectancy if living standards are better then average life expectancy should improve
