You don't need a cordon for that. Search is carried out based on intel.

To find the terrorist intel is needed. Ceasefire doesn't mean cease of intel.

And security forces reserve the right to retaliate in self defence and to protect innocent.

And presence of a Jihadi in a locality is threat to innocent civilians. So no cease fire there.

This is big: If the Ramzan ceasefire is successful in reducing violence then Centre is ready to extend it further.

Folks there are many kashmiris who are helping us with Intel.

We've killed many big fishes with the help of this Intel.

At the end of the day, they're muslims and they want some peace during this holy season. Govt. has given it to them in good faith with full knowledge that Tangos don't sit quiet either. These Intel folks will be happy and if tangos do anything stupid, then Intel folks will alert and security forces do the rest.

ceasefires are beneficial when done between two or more parties, not unilateral ceasefires.

edit: these kind of move work only if there is corresponding propaganda plan from our side in place. if there is no attached media blitz, this move has little gains.

unlike you i have interacted with a lot of army officer at ordnance factory nagpur ,so keep your rant to yourself,ost of them have the same opinion about every govt.
