Yes ...but question is how?
People in valley won't believe in non-kashmiri. Majority of kashmiri's are muslims who are fed by anti-hindu / anti-indian propaganda by their religion columnists. Never expect kashmiri leaders to be Pro-Indian. They will use Pakistan/Religion card against Delhi and Delhi card against Pakistan. And will milk heavily from both the sides. This is happening from decades.

My take...

They say it was 'retaliatory firing'. But retaliatory firing in thick jungles cannot result in so many insurgent casualties.

They say it was conducted by Special Forces during 'area domination' patrolling. But SF never conduct area domination patrols which is done by normal infantry. SF conduct ops only on specific targets like insurgent camps etc. Thus it most likely was an op to destroy camps which resulted in heavy casualties on the enemy.

They say that the op was conducted inside our territory. But insurgent camps of the NSCN(K) are located inside Myanmar territory not ours!

They say the op was conducted at 0430h. But who does area domination at that unearthly time? It's ok if it is an overnight ambush but so many insurgent casualties in the jungles even in an ambush and that too at night is highly unlikely. Unless of course if the casualties are overstated.

Thus, I feel that this was a surgical strike on an NSCN(K) camp inside Myanmar's territory by the SF resulting in heavy casualties of the NSCN(K) who were caught by surprise. What Eastern Command has said is probably a cover-up to avoid any diplomatic fallout with Myanmar.

I may be totally off track here but then logic screams that it was indeed a surgical strike. I hope I'm right!! However, the truth will probably never be told in public.
