A militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight at Reban village of Sopore town in district Baramulla.
The gunfight started in wee hours of Saturday.
Internet services have been suspended and schools closed in Sopore town “as a precautionary measure”.
With the killing of this militant the death toll, related to militancy activities, in Kashmir has risen to 49 since July 30.

On July 30, two militants, identified as Shariq Ahmad of Gulzarpora, Awantipora and Showkat Ahmed aka Shabir of Mihind area of district Anantnag were killed in Tahab area of district Pulwama.
On August 01, LeT Commander Abu Dujana along with his local associate Arif Nabi Bhat were killed at Hakripora village of district Pulwama. Two civilians, identified as Firdous Ahmed Khan and Aqeel Ahmad Bhat were shot dead by the state government forces during the post encounter clashes.
On August 03, two army men were killed, identified as Major Pandey and Sepoy Chhultim, in Zaipora area of Shopian district.
On the same day, August 03, two Hizb Militants were killed in Gopalpora area of district Kulgam, identified as, Aqib Ahmad Itoo of Gopalpora and Suhail Rather of Tantraypora, Yaripora Kulgam.
On August 04, a 10-day-old militant, identified as Yawar Nisar was killed at Kanelwan, Bijbehara area of district Anantnag. One civilian, identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousuf, of Arwini area of Kulgam, was also shot dead by the state government forces.
On August 05, three LeT militants, identified as Abid Hamid Mir of Mir Mohallah Hajin, Javid Ahmad Dar of Khanpora, Baramulla and Danish Ahmad Dar s/o Ghulam Hassan Dar of Batpora Sopore, were killed in Amargrah area of Sopore.
On August 07, a non-local LeT militant, identified as Umer, was killed in an encounter between militants and the state government forces in Samboora area of ditrict Pulwama.
On August 09, three three militants, identified as Zahid Ahmad Bhat resident of Nowdal Tral, Mohammad Ishaq Bhat resident of Batagund Tral and Mohammad Ashraf Dar resident of Baghi Trich, Pulwama were killed in an encounter between militants and the state government forces in Gulabbag area of Tral in district Pulwama.
On the same day, On August 09, Mohammad Younis Sheikh of Soimoo, Tral area of Pulwama died of pellet injuries during clashes at encounter site.
On August 12, two civilians, identified as Owais s/o Mohammad Shafi Dar of Kakpora, Pulwama and Mohammad Syead Bhat s/o Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Zainpora, Shopian; three militants identified as Umar Majid Sheikh, Kathpora Yaripora; Adil Malik, of Malikgund Shopian and Irfan ul Sheikh, of Malldaira Shopian and two army men, identified as Sepoy Ilayaraja P ans Sepoy Gawai Sumedh Waman, were killed in an encounter at Awneera, Zainpora area of district Shopian.
On August, 16, LeT district commander, identified as Ayoub Lelhari, was killed in a brief encounter in Quil area of district Pulwama.
On August 20, Muhammad Ishaq Parray, 50, son of Abdul Gani, of Ugjan Dialgam area of district Anantnag was shot dead by militants on August 20. He was affiliated with the ruling PDP and was a contractor by profession. He died on way to the local hospital.
On August 20, a local cable operator, Hilal Ahmad Malik, of Malik Mohalla district Shopian was fired upon by the unknown gunmen. Hilal died on way to a Srinagar hospital. Police blamed militants for his killing.
On August 21, a youth, identified as Gowher Ahmad Dar’s, 17, bullet-riddled body was found in an orchard at Dhobipora village in Shopian district. Police blamed militants for his killing.
On August 21, former PDP Panch, identified as Shabir Ahmad Wani, 45, was found dead in Shangus area of district Anantnag. His dead body was found on the under construction one storey house of him. Police did not accuse or suspect anybody for killing him.
On August 22, a youth, Shahid Bashir Mir, was killed in a fake encounter by the Army. However, IGP Kashmir range later confirmed that Shahid was a civilian and had no links with any militant outfit.
On August 26, four JK policemen identified as Constable Imtiaz Ahmad of Churath village, SPOs Rafiq Ahmad Hajam and Mohammad Yousuf Hajam, both hailing from Chandgam area of Pulwama, and police nursing orderly Amarjit Singh of Budgam and four CRPF men identified as Dhanawade Ravindra of Maharashtra, Constable Jaswant Singh of Haryana, Dinesh Deepak from Gujarat, and constable Mohammad Yasin Teli from Baramulla, and three Pakistani JeM militants identified as Abu Saad, Dawood and Abu Bakr were killed when militants attacked District Police Line in district Pulwama.
On September 01, a policeman, identified as Kishan Lal, was killed after militants attacked a police vehicle at Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.
On September 02, a LeT militant, identified as Commander Muhammad Ashfaq of Yaripura, Kulgam, was killed in a brief encounter.
On September 04, two militants identified as Nayeem Ahmad of Brath Kalan Sopore and Ashiq Hussain of Andergam Pattan were killed in Shagargund, Brath Sopore.
On September 09, an unidentified militant was killed in ongoing gunfight in Reban area of Sopore town.
