Some reported PDV as AAD (before and after the test). I pointed out the error to Idrw, and they corrected it on their website. Is this the same test which termed as AAD test which was to be carried out few days back? Or AAD test is postpone?

We are going to intercept it at 150-100 kms, then either 100-50 by PAD or by AAD directly by AAD at 50-30kms.This is a great news. First test was partial success as the vehicle moved towards the target but could not hit it in hit to kill mode. That test was made to assess the test of IRR seeker and n warhead was put into the missile. Missile passed near the target but did not hit it. This hit to kill test is a great achievement. This missile has a capability to intercept target at 250 KM it will intercept Porki missiles in mid course before their so called Abbabeel deliver its RV.
I heard that PDV has indigenous seeker! We are going to intercept it at 150-100 kms, then either 100-50 by PAD or by AAD directly by AAD at 50-30kms.
Pak has at max will have
rudimentary MIRV where all RVs will hit in 50 kms radius. As distance is too short for bus to move around and eject each RV at different targets. This too will take few years.
So this system can intercept at this hight before they eject.
Yes new seeker, new warhead and new method of interception, earlier it was proximity interception now HTK.I heard that PDV has indigenous seeker!
Is that true?
First test was to evaluate home grown seeker only. It passed from near the target but failed to score hit to kill. No warhead was put in missile.I heard that PDV has indigenous seeker!
Is that true?
They are testing new IIR seeker so they reduce the height. Flight envelop would be 150-75 kms. This new warhead is amazing Chinese are only started but we are having parts of this for long time. Already posted old and now new images of it.lol there goes ababeel ki l****. 97km is stunning. We can easily extend it to 120-130km. At that altitude missiles will be intercepted in midcourse. Now go full speed ahead with Agni and Prithvi tests.
The interceptor system [whole surveillance system which picks up missile ] had no idea about the part of incoming missile [I.e, the incoming missile was maneuvering to an extent, and neither did they had direct communication with the launching system. ]
Tested against a ballistic target means some ballistic missile or some object following similar way to travel as that of BM.
Object following undefined path means it was either not made to travel to get hit easily but in fact team launching BMD were not told about trajectory and path of target.
System itself found and shot it down.
Means BMD has matured and it was an actual capability test instead of "spoon feeding" missile.
Quite big achievement!
It was just like shooting down missile in war.
Paki MIRV ki aisi ki taisi!
:biggrin2:

http://ajaishukla.blogspot.in/2012/12/prithvi-defence-vehicle-test-enemy.html?m=1Next month’s test will feature a brand-new target: A two-stage version of the Dhanush missile, launched from a naval vessel 300-350 km from the interceptor location at Wheeler’s, and soaring to about 150 km. This target missile would mimic the trajectory and speed of an enemy ballistic missile fired from 1,500 km away, such as Pakistan’s Gauri and Shaheen projectiles. So far, target missiles, fired from Chandipur, just 70 km away, could only mimic enemy missiles fired from a range of 600 km or less.
How do you destroy enemy missiles at boost phase? have a 2000 km ranged interceptor? We need to intercept missiles at even higher altitudes like 150-200km and need maneuvrable missiles which can destroy enemy missiles at boost phase itself

US did experiment with the idea using airborne laser (satellite detects thermal activity, and the airborne laser sears the missile's fuel tank in the boost phase) - unfortunately it hasn't been successful.
Thanks. As suspected, it's an air launched intercept! This was posted by me in drdo presentation thread

Sir PDV interception altitude is upto 150km-Its practically new interceptor
I also know it has new warhead.
