I'm sure one of the scenarios they could have discussed is a reverse kargil. Occupying strategic points and then wear out pakistan until they negotiate for peace, would have been a tempting prospect. The only reason they may have not that option was perhaps due to the weather at this time of the year and plus the urgency of the response required, would not have afforded the time required for planning such an operation....

in Karnataka to kneel down and apologise after claiming that he made "anti-national" statements following the IAF strikes in Pakistan's Balakot.


In a Facebook post, Sandeep Wathar, a Left-leaning professor, had praised Pakistan for releasing


In his post, Wathar also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the BJP and called Pakistan an intelligent nation.

Meanwhile, college authorities said they will meet on Tuesday to discuss the issue and take appropriate action.


The institution where the incident took place is run by Bijapur Lingayat Development Education Society, which is owned by Karnataka home minister and Congress leader M B Patil.

Will the Balakote strike in Pakistan kill terrorism in Kashmir?

Not likely. But it’s impact will be felt in the ISI and terror master ranks. They will be able to replace the dead cadres very easily. The question now arises, what is the next step. Even killing JEM chief or LET Chief in their own den will stop terrorism. It is unlikely. ISI will rebuild the leadership and cadres very easily. Will a major war fought across Punjab, Rajasthan, LOC will kill terrorism? If Pakistan is badly defeated, then there will be changes to civil and military leadership. They will be removed but terrorism is unlikely die. Hence what should be other steps needed to kill terrorism.

Economically weaken Pakistan permanently is one step. Agriculture, their livelihood should be hit the hardest. At critical times when the crops need water, reducing the flow in the rivers by filling up water reservoirs on River Chenab and Jhelum is a good alternative. This is doable under Indus water treaty agreement.

That Chinese built road to Gawadar is a big negative for Pakistan. Chinese will never be able to ship goods 5,000 km via road over 13,000 feet snow covered passes. On top of that, interest on $50 billion loan will be crippling the economy. No IMF loan should be made available to tide over financial activities.

Expedite Bulochistan freedom movement. Let the Pakistani Punjabi army should stay busy there and loose much of its fighting prowess. Also counter terrorism effort should include counter bombing in Pakistan when they do such stupidity in india.

Many more such measures are needed .....

• He will undergo more medical tests
• It has been revealed that Pakistan has not planted any bugs inside Abhinandan Varthman's body

MRI reports of Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinanadan Varthaman have revealed that the fighter pilot suffered spinal injury as he ejected from his plane after it was shot down.

The officer will undergo more check-ups and treatment at the Research and Referral Hospital In Delhi Cantonment for next 10 days.

Medical reports also revealed that Pakistan has not planted any bugs in Abhinandan Varthaman's body.

He has already met his family members including father, mother, wife and Son. After he is relaxed and ready to talk, he will start debriefing about his detention in Pakistan.

On Sunday, Abhinandan Varthaman underwent debriefing.

The IAF pilot was captured by the Pakistani Army on Wednesday after his MiG-21 Bison jet was shot down in a dogfight with Pakistani jets during aerial combat. He downed an F-16 fighter of Pakistan before his plane was hit.

Varthaman arrived in the national capital by an IAF flight at around 11:45 pm Friday, nearly two-and-half hours after he crossed over to India through the Attari-Wagah border.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa met Varthaman separately on Saturday during which he apprised them about the mental trauma he was subjected to during his captivity in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the defence minister commended him on his valour and expressed the nation's gratitude for his selfless service.

The officials said Varthaman has been in high spirits despite the harassment he suffered in Pakistan.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after Indian fighters bombed terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed's biggest training camp near Balakot, deep inside Pakistan early Tuesday.

Pakistan retaliated by attempting to target Indian military installations on Wednesday. However, the IAF thwarted their plans.

Iran also has one part of Balochistan. Using Balochis against Pakistan is likely to backfire on Iran.

Historically, what one sect supported or not is only good for historical context. The current political situation is different!
For example: The call for Pakistan creation was loudest in Bengal! But then they realized the futility! Bangladesh was carved out as a secular country from Pakistan & is now a close ally to India.

Islamabad, March 3 (Express Tribune): Pakistan is likely to withdraw its opposition to the listing of Masood Azhar, the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), as a global terrorist by the UN Security Council (UNSC), a security official said.

It is not clear what specific action would be taken against Masood Azhar but indications are that Pakistan may withdraw its opposition to the listing of Masood in the UN Security Council terror list.

“The state has to decide whether individual is important or the larger national interest of the country,” the official replied when asked if Pakistan would no more oppose the UNSC action against Azhar.
