Indian Army targets Pakistan Army with new sniper rifles across Line-of-Control
The rifles were purchased recently and are being used to target Pakistani posts involved in violating the ceasefire across the Line-of-Control
The Indian Army is learnt to have been targeting the Pakistan Army with state-of-the-art sniper rifles along the Line-of-Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The sniper rifle fire is being directed towards Pakistani posts involved in violating the ceasefire agreement, sources told India Today TV.

The sources said the rifles involved in the Indian action against Pakistani troops are the Finnish Lapua Magnum and a rifle made by the Italian company Beretta. Both these rifle were procured by the Indian Army recently on a fast track basis.

According to the sources, the new rifles were purchased directly by the army's Northern Command under financial powers granted to the commanding-in-chief of the Northern Command. Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh is the current commanding-in-chief of the Northern Command.

The damage caused by the sniper rifle fire is yet to be ascertained, the sources said.

Though incorrect reporting by India Today journos. Italian & Finnish rifles ? Lapua Magnum 0.338 is the cartridge/calibre. Barrett M95 not mentioned at all ...

Baba might be misnaming ammunitions due to lack of knowledge . Go by his gist of 5000 mortars landing at 4 places . Who cares if its 180 mm or 120 mm as long as it's killing the pigs.
Probably not! He precisely mentions 180mm. No sane person with even little knowledge of weapons will do that blunder. Despite knowing the fact that it may (or is) not in function, he mentions it. This further strengthens his intel's are authentic.

He says 180mm mortars!! Lol! No one has seen the S23 180mm guns in action of late and neither has the Ordinance factory board produced any ammunition for the 180mm cannon since long. It's been phased out. Unless a couple of these mothballed antiques have been operationalised for action along the LoC which I doubt.

The only place they are being used is in Syria.
May be we are Importing the Ammunition
Directly from Russia

They say..its taken out from the storage..
Thats good..
old and rugged...will always work.

But 5000 of the Mortars or Artillery..do we make that?
heard that we have asked some OLD ordinance factories, that was scheduled to close down..to get back online and make "stuffs" for us

Well!! these purchases are mostly top secret...
media wanted a name and they gave it..thats all.
Journos are stoopid who dont differentiate between things nor logically conclude.

As the rule..
"give what the media wants and they wont pester you"

gave 2 names and them media is happy.

What are the drawbacks India armed forces would face when liberating POJK (Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir)?

Is it Nasr, Shaheen etc...? Is it China? Or rugged mountaineous terrain?
