the nuke deal with the usa is moving forward slowly and with obama , now it seems to be stuck .... this is what we get for linking with the usa
In the 1930's when east turkestan was an independent country they made the mistake of not accepting russian protection but instead chose to align with the usa .... they did a couple of back and forths accepting russian troops then asking them to leave, the second time they asked stalin for protection , he replied " forget it ".
When the guomindang / PLA attacked turkestan the usa didnt lift a finger to help and russia had already backed off
lesson to learn; friendshiip with usa is based on a lot of hype .... russians more solid ....of course 90,000 indians study postgrad in the usa and usa has more diplomatic reach , so INdia has to approach carefully, but in the final analysis it always seems that russia is a more solid bet for defence support.
So observer status in CIS might be suitable .... and russia is likely to be welcoming given the amount and money value of arms purchse india is getting from them ...more than the rest of CIS ( excluding russia itself , of course ) combined.
what do you memeber think ?
