One would think the US would have learned something from the decades long fiasco in Afghanistan but no. The decade long con show starts once again US gets bases in Pakistan they in turn inform Taliban of any incoming strikes thus alerting them and averting major casualties while giving them safe space in pakistan.

This in turn leads to US once again forcing India to remain mum on pakistani terror and their cross border antics because pakistan is facing terror attacks blah blah at the behest of US.

Taliban on the other hand might or might not benefit from this. US might feel that they now have leverage over taliban and might grant them some aid and recognition later on though this is unlikely as of now.
