I think Pilot is Gujjar and his father took the name Pilot because he was an IAF pilot!

Sir in an interview Rajash Pilot said that after IAF job, we went to Indra Gandhi and she said you stand for election, since no one know him, he used name Rajash Pilot so that people know that he was ex-IAF. Rest is history.
