Aviamost to acquire up to 300 Skylander turboprop twins
Moscow-based tourism company Aviamost plans to acquire up to 300 GECI Skylander SK-105 twin-engined turboprops in a bid to become a major player in the local air transport market.
Aviamost has signed a memorandum of understanding with GECI subsidiary and SK-105 developer Sky Aircraft, of France. A purchase agreement covering an order for 40 aircraft and options for a further 260, is expected to be concluded in the first quarter of this year.
Aviamost said the Skylander SK-105, due for completion and maiden flight this year, is priced competitively and meets Russian market requirements in terms of capacity and range.
The stated price of the aircraft manufacturer of € 6,5 million, ie the cost of the memorandum, if implemented - € 1,95 billion
On news of a deal with the Russian company shares on the Stock Exchange of GECI increased by 38% - to 2.07 euros. Because of such a sharp rise trading was suspended.
Report of the first half of the fiscal year, operating loss amounted to € 3,9 million compared to € 1,9 million in the previous period. This announcement looks set for GECI to begin as a major force in the world's regional transport market.
