The entry hole, Very well camouflaged and shut with a wooden door..

After exploding the main entry hole, the tunnel emerged..

Tunnels are carved via hand tools and these are wide enough for tangos and ammo and other ration supply..

Living area and cooking equipment..

^^With these kind of infrastructures, Tangos can live here for month unnoticed only exposed when noticed by Air or Ground Recon Patrol..

Similar hideout were busted in past..

Indian Army Elite 9 Para Commandos in action during a operation against terrorists somewhere in Kashmir, More than 15 terrorists were killed in a single encounter,Army had to air drop elite Para commandos to do the job,Encounter take place above 15,000 feet in the inhospitable mountain ranges.

Reminds me of Rambo III. The depiction of the way the Afghan Mujahideen fought is very similar to these caves that we are seeing. People, this is very similar to the Soviet Mujahideen War. The good thing here is, the Mujahideen are losing. Kudos to RR!

In the 25 Division photo library, there was this photo of a terrorist hideout in the hollow of a tree trunk!

They have also photos of a hideout in newly constructed house where they have a walled up the hideout but it has a secret exit that cannot be seen during a cursory inspection.

They are very ingenuous.

Actually, the locals have no options but to obey the terrorists. If they don't, they will be shot and killed.

They are uncomfortable with the SF, but they can defy the SF, unlike not being able to defy the terrorists, because they are assured the backing of the Hurriyat, the Politicians and then ofcourse, they can always fudge a complaint under Human Rights and put the SF on the backfoot.

These fortified caves are kind of safe houses in Jungles & Mountains, Weapon and Ammo can be stockpile when borders are too heavily guarded / Snow arrives..

Question on the Caves:

So who creates these caves? It looks like these caves are in hard rocks, so I doubt humans would have excavated them. I suspect water streams flowing underground for ages have hewn these channels, which only became wider and larger as time passed and more water flowed. Later on, these caves were exploited by the Tangos, and sometimes, the entrances were modified.

Mostly, Natural formations were modified and sometimes these are created with tools at hand, Such locations are very deep inside Jungle and Mountains, The use of cement is also seen..

Pathetic attempt by the losers to terrorize in the name of Islam.They have learnt that they are born coward and can't fight the Indian Army head on so doing these lame attempts.

Indian Army is happy to kill them and send to their 1072 virgins as promised by their aakaas sitting in Islamabad.
